Prison Break: Sweet Caroline

(S02E19) After all of my complaining through the past few episodes ... OK, the entire season thus far, I'm happy to admit that this episode was actually well done. No huge loopholes worth dwelling on and a couple of surprises to boot. Heck, before this episode I was dreading what would be coming next, when now I'm looking forward to it.

The recording we were waiting to hear was ... unexpected. I'm not sure I could have predicted that. I'm a bit confused as to why such information would make any difference to her when she was planning to leave the presidency anyway. Was it just the embarrassment of the situation? Does she have other plans?

I'm honestly stumped as to what could be going on with the soon-to-be ex-President. Was she planning to announce her cancer all along or did the threats forcer her hand? It really doesn't matter if she has cancer or not at this point, as her presidency is basically over.

Most of the actions in this episode make for what could be an interesting third season. I think everyone was wondering how another season could be dragged out of this show, but with the brothers having a completely different goal in mind (hiding and not revealing the truth), things could get rather interesting.

What I'd like to know is why Bill Kim was chasing Linc and Michael all this time when the president was going to step down anyway. What could they really have that would be so threatening to anyone? Now that the recording is useless, why would Kim and Mahone hunt them down other than the fact that they're fugitives? Hopefully along with the plot holes we won't have these unfulfilled questions to be answered.

What is with Sucre asking Bellick to take him back to the States? Is it just because he feels he could somehow get the money ahead of Bellick? If so, that's got to be the most disappointed part of the episode. Or was it Sara falling for the closing door trick? Mahone not just looking in the closet or under the bed in the first place? Or maybe the very strange flight pattern Bellick took to get to Mexico?

I know, I did say this was a good episode, and it was ... for Prison Break.

Keith's words in comment 28:

I guess I've considered a lot of the writing in this show this season to be lazy, and so that's what it deserved -- a lazy review. I really liked the first season, with the cool tattoos, the cool plans Michael had to break out of the prison. Where are those cool things now? It's like the writers thought "woah, we got picked up for a 2nd season? Well now what do we do?!"

---

Taking into account the tone and mistakes in the review, one can only say....

Pot. Kettle. Black.

Taking into account the other words from Keith in the comments, and factoring in that he is editor-in-chief(!), one has to wonder why he/she even bothers to visit this site anymore.

To the other commentators - thanks for the various suggestions of other sites. I will most definitely check them out.

I feel I should add osmething good about Keith though. He does interact with the commentators often, even with the smallest detail brought up, at times even thanking them.

He might not be able to handle criticism at all, but at least he does respond, which is something I find that the rest of the writers here never do unless there was 2 already pages of comments telling them to shove it.

I usually refrain from stating my opinions, because the last time I did state them, McDuffee here deleted/censored my comments and emailed me and calling me an asshole (that's right) when I never once used foul language on here. Hey but I still come here, cause I do enjoy a couple of writers despite any criticisms I had of them (which they heeded unlike this one).

I might have just found a kindred spirit in Bob Loblaw, who articulated very well what I find to be the problem here. Why does Keith always play the "I get paid for this and you're jealous" card? It stinks of insecurity. I'm a paid and relatively well established film critic for 5 years now and I don't go about shoving my privileged job down other people's throats just because someone disagrees with me.

Listen up, there's a few of us who have been collating comments and reviews to show the higher ups at AOL how this place is being run to the ground and I urge you guys to remember that hubris and complacency is the problem with the site at the moment.

Keith is the editor-in-chief of TV Squad if you can believe this. And he has to set the example the site must follow, and it's clear to see he doesn't. He plays the professional card when it comes to interacting with broadcasters but plays the blogger card when it comes to quality.

I don't usually get so worked up about this, but I do like the idea of this site and I have found things I DO LIKE as well. If issues get worked out here, I'll be more than glad to congratulate Keith.

She didn't say she had terminal cancer, she has malignant cancer.

If u don't like the show and think it's a waste of time and space at least have the decency to pay attention to the details, if u get paid to review a show and u r not even bothered with the details then who the hell will ? most of us who bother to read the review obviously like the show, we don't need someone coming every week telling us how bad it is while writing a bad review, trust me we can get that for free, and there are millions of people around the world who would love to write a better one for free, i don't mean any disrespect by the way but come on!

Just when you thought they were going to be able to stop running. Great show.

KEITH, SUGGESTION... it is the height of unprofessional to half-ass a review JUST BECAUSE you don't like your assignment and then you bait the commenters with your inability to accept being called out on it. Instead of reviewing this show (better nothing than a smug, half-assed attempt), take over the reviewing duties of Everybody Hate Chris... the reviewer is cancelling due to his/her cable company getting rid of CW.

Other posters, read the Prison Break reviews on tvgasm.com or ew.com, if you want decent reviews.

Agree with Bob and Ang. Was dismayed to come here expecting some good natured gushing about the twists last night only to find that the review was way offbase about what actually happened last night.

Really? No one else would review Prison Break at TV Squad, because its considered such bad TV? And to think I remember Bob Sassone implying the Television Without Pity site was stuck up about TV.
