What to Watch March 5 - 11

by Kelly Woo, posted Mar 5th 2007 8:19AM

Heroes on NBC and Wedding Bells on FoxHeroes (Mon., 9PM ET, NBC)
Last week's Heroes? Best episode of any TV series all year. And prepare for another explosive installment before the show goes into rerun hell for several weeks. We return to Isaac's studio, where an accidentally-shot Simone lays dying. Or is she? Hiro continues his quest for the samurai sword, while Mr. Bennet gets to know his new partner, Candice. And in a scene we've all been waiting for, Nathan goes to meet the elusive, mysterious Mr. Linderman.

Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll (Tue., 9PM ET, The CW) series premiere
Don't you wish your girlfriend were hot like the Pussycat Dolls? If she already is, maybe she should've tried out for this new reality competition. Eighteen hopefuls sing, dance and shake their booties for the judges, but only nine will get chosen to be finalists. No doubt the claws will come out as they live together, rehearse together and compete against each other to be the new, seventh member of the hit group.

The Wedding Bells (Wed., 9PM ET, Fox) series premiere
It's a wonder that there hasn't been a series about wedding planners before. Like hospital visits or court dates, a wedding is something many people have to suffer through -- and there are plenty of doctor and lawyer shows. This new dramedy from David E. Kelley follows three sisters -- Annie, Jane and Sammy Bell -- who inherit their family's wedding business. As they manage hysterical brides, overbearing parents and quirky quests, the sisters also deal with their own crazy, mixed-up personal lives.

30 Rock (Thu., 9:30PM ET, NBC)
At the beginning of the season, I never would've thought that 30 Rock would be the victor over Studio 60 in the shows-within-shows battle? The much-improved comedy will be missed as it goes on hiatus for several weeks. While Liz struggles with making staff cuts, Jack hires his n'er-do-well brother (Nathan Lane). Meanwhile, Tracy and Kenneth continue their strange friendship, as Kenneth tries to help Tracy achieve spiritual self-actualization.

Las Vegas (Fri., 9PM ET, NBC) 4th season finale
Alright, Las Vegas fans, you can breathe easy. NBC has picked up another season of the soapalicious show, although [two of its stars, James Caan and Nikki Cox, won't be returning] (highlight to read spoilers). In the finale, Danny tries to help a friend avoid re-deployment to Iraq, and Delinda waits to tell him some life-altering news. Mike searches for a missing Sam, who's been taken by one of her whales, while Ed gets an ultimatum from Jillian.

Without a Trace (Sun., 10PM ET, CBS)
The grass is always greener on the other side, even for Hollywood stars. Without a Trace leading man Anthony LaPaglia got the itch to work on the other side of the camera, so he conceived and wrote tonight's episode. According to a TV Guide interview, LaPaglia was inspired by the Lacy Peterson case, particularly the behavior of her husband, Scott, after her death. The episode focuses on a missing U.S. senator, with suspicion cast on her recently fired chief of staff.

Pussycat Dolls? seriously?

Please don't support the show that is replacing Veronica Mars, it must die a cold, single episode death.

For some reason the previews from Heroes makes me think Mr. Linderman is The Architect from the Matrix movies.

Just an FYI it's James Caan, not Ed Caan.
