Summer Glau is a terminator

Summer Glau of Firefly has been added to the new FOX pilot The Sarah Conner Chronicles, a continuation of the Terminator movie series. The series begins where Terminator 2: Judgment Day left off. Glau will play a female terminator who confronts Sarah Conner and her son John in the first episode alone with a male terminator, played by Owain Yeoman (The Nine, Kitchen Confidential). Lena Headey will play Sarah Conner, and John Conner will be played by Thomas Dekker.

I haven't seen the original Terminator in ages, but I was a pretty big fan of the second installment. Terminator 2 was, to me, one of those big blockbuster movies that wasn't afraid to be anything but a big blockbuster movie. It had great chase scenes, cool special effects, and a great villain. Hey, it's killer robots and time travel, not Shakespeare. Taken on its own terms, it's a really fun flick. I also think James Cameron's later movies, such as Titanic, would have been vastly improved with the addition of a terminator or two:

Rose: The ship is sinking!

Terminator: Come with me if you want to live.

Rose: Where are you taking me?

Terminator: We are going to travel through time and then fight strangers for their clothes while completely naked.

Rose: What about my boyfriend?

Terminator: I tore out his spine and forced it down his esophagus.

Rose: Okay, but let's go now, this salt water is not good for my hair.

Terminator: Do you use conditioner?

Rose: I use a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner.

Terminator: That will not help. You must use a separate conditioner. We can discuss while we're naked and beating up bar thugs with bike chains.

Rose: Fair enough.
