"M*E*S*S: General Admission": Jokes about Barbara Bush and Brazilian wax jobs? Ahh! Do not want! Scooter Libby, distract me! Senior Military Analyst John Oliver stopped by to talk about supporting our troops and to show off his kick-ass magnet-covered car. Wait. That wasn't John Oliver... That was Rob Riggle! It looks like they've managed to do an episode without their favorite snarky British correspondent. Just for a bit of fun, I'm going to see how long they can stay away...Episodes since last John Oliver appearance: 1
"Sam On Your Side": The appearance by Bill Russell (the former NBA star) was totally pointless but absolutely hilarious. I haven't enjoyed a Samantha Bee report this much in a very long time. I also think this is the first time in a long while that Samantha hasn't randomly cursed in her report. She seems to use the "haha, I'm a mom and they had to bleep what I said" thing a lot, so it was good to see her get through an entire segment without doing it.
The night's guest was Richard Jadick, author of On Call In Hell: A Doctor's Iraq War Story and the world's toughest urologist. This guy was way too modest, just as Jon pointed out. If I had gone through everything Jadick did, I'd probably be the most pompous braggadocio on the face of this earth. Read about his story here. It's truly captivating.
Jon/Stephen: Stephen Colbert is being attacked by all borders. Moment of Zen: Bush has a little trouble with the English. Oh, Mr. President, you so funny.
