Dominic Monaghan to star in horror film

by Erin Martell, posted Mar 8th 2007 2:01PM

Dominic Monaghan, LostLost's Dominic Monaghan has scored a starring role as a London gravedigger in the horror movie I Sell the Dead. He will star alongside actor Larry Fessenden (Broken Flowers), who is producing the film. Monaghan will play an 18th-century gravedigger named Arthur Blake who is also a corpse trader. Actors Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and Angus Scrimm (Phantasm series) are in negotiations to appear in the movie as well.

Production of I Sell the Dead will begin in May, after Monaghan completes his work on the third season of Lost. The death of Monaghan's character, Charlie Pace, was predicted in a recent episode, so the actor's return to films may be permanent. This is his first major film role since the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Since then he has also had roles in smaller films like Shooting Livien and The Purifiers.

Monaghan is set to appear in at least one more Charlie flashback episode this season, although the date of the episode has not been disclosed.
