Antonella Barba offered $500,000 adult DVD site 'spokesperson' deal

Should Antonella Barba's American Idol journey come to an end, the 20-year-old Point Pleasant, NJ native apparently won't have to look too hard for work.

SugarDVD -- the largest renter of adult DVDs online -- has offered Barba $500,000 to become their new "spokesperson," TMZ.com reported on Thursday. SugarDVD's CEO "Jax" said if Barba were to accept the offer, her first gig would be hosting a launch party for their new video-on-demand service.

"You saw her photos online, she's smokin'," Jax told TMZ.com.

Barba is currently one of the Top 16 semifinalists competing on the sixth season of Fox' American Idol. Despite the emergence of numerous provocative photos of her on the Internet in recent weeks, Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe has said the show decided not to disqualify her from the reality competition series. She's also received support from the Idol's host and judges.

The offer from SugarDVD comes on the heels of Wednesday's report that "Girls Gone Wild" founder and CEO Joe Francis offered Barba $250,000 to become a host for the video company, which found its niche by catching college-age women baring their breasts on film.

Needless to say, Jax welcomed a bidding war for Barba's services, telling TMZ.com, "We will not lose because of money."

Whether Frenchie made any $ is not the point! American Idol's image is supposed to be that of someone who is marketable, who will be liked by people, so they will buy the music. Just as others have been bounced in previous seasons for arrests & questionable pasts, these contestants should be held to the same standards.
If Rosie is so wrong, THEN WHY HASN'T FOX GIVEN A REASON FOR ITS DOUBLE STANDARDS??! It's taking advantage of Rosie's remarks to side step the issue of why they did nothing to this cute, THIN white girl yet they booted the fat black chick. Rosie is merely commenting like other talk show hosts do!
You all need to get past the fact that despite narrow-minded thinking such as yours, an overweight gay comedienne beat the odds and hosts a daily TV show...where she is PAID for her VIEW!! Rosie's an idiot, plain and simple. She tripped over a method for generating buzz (albeit all bad) and now she's just a one trick pony scanning the newspapers to find something offensive to say next.
