HBO unveils final Sopranos ad campaign

And so it begins. The countdown to the final nine episodes of one of the finest dramas to ever grace our TV screens. I'll be honest -- I'm very impressed with the simplicity of the ad campaign that HBO is now running to promote The Sopranos farewell. Nothing too flashy. Just black and white. Tony all by himself. Pondering. It makes you think. Plus, I love the "Made in America" tagline. It has such an obvious double meaning, but it fits perfectly. There's actually another ad floating around too. I found a snapshot of it here. Equally simple but also a little creepy. Just a family photo... but everyone is staring you in the face. You have to wonder though. Generally, past ads for The Sopranos hold some kind of meaning regarding the season to come. Is this one any different? Who do you think Tony is looking off to the right at? You know what I mean? If you zoomed out on the photo, what else is around him?

I think The Sopranos is the greatest TV show ever.... The actors that are in the series are the best of the best...They make the characters real and believeable and keep you coming back for more.. It's not about mobsters...it's about LIFE....the good with the bad....For those who believe it gives Italians a bad rep....It's a television show....The best drama ever offered..My compliments to HBO

Very excited for the start. Somethings gunna happen thats gunna blow are minds. It has to...Somethings going to happen to Tony, Carmella looks like she might take charge. She loves the mob life, and she wants to live rich and powerful. She won't admit it, but she would be the boss in a hot second.

i'm gonna be running total social commentary on my site when the final season begins.

my speculation so far, is obviously it's gonna go out with a bang, and most have said tony will die, and Christopher could take the throne, but... with his drug problem re-surfacing, i don't see how that could happen. also, the feds could finally bag the family towards the end... although, my personal favorite spec is that Tony will die, and Meadow will take the throne, which would be a complex off-shoot on it's own entirely... time will tell. but not much longer... i can't wait.

Heres what I think...

The Statue Of Liberty symbolizes freedom. However, the statue has it's back turned to Tony Soprano. All of the ducks are flying away, abandoning him. Maybe he is on a boat and his friends turn their back to him and kill Tony Soprano (and throw him into the ocean, losing his freedom).

I think that tony i looking on the other side of life and death as he sees his future. it could also be that look of him thinking about giving up the gangster lifestlye

The HUGE surprise of the final episodes is as follows:
Tony, during one of his many visits with Dr. Melfi, realizes that Uncle Junior molested him when he was a small boy. Tony kept the memories blocked away, and breaks down when the memories come flooding back.
Once Uncle Junior learned that Tony was seeing Dr. Melfi he was scared Tony would remember the past molestations and confront him - and thats the reason Uncle Junior shot Tony.
Uncle Junior is not crazy - he's putting on a skillfully crafted act in order to make shooting Tony look like the act of a sick old man with Alzheimers Disease, instead of the child molester he really is.
