Melinda Doolittle looks like a deer in headlights

I can not believe this. People are so stupid. What the hell is wrong with people. Why are you guys so critical. Melinda Doolittle is a very talented and beautiful young lady. Why is everyone bashing her and worried about her looks? That is so stupid. People are always so judgemental of each other. We should support her for doing something positive. By the way, so the hell what if she looks suprised when the judges praise her for her singing gift. She seems to be a genuinely nice kind-hearted person. And for who ever said she looks like shrek needs to stop. What the hell do you look like? Stop hating on Melinda. If you can't say nothing nice, then keep your stupid mean comments to yourself. That's what's wrong with America today. Everyone tries to pass judgement, size people up and put them down when they are doing something positive. Melinda is an American Idol in her own right. Stop sweating her and let her do her thing. Ya'll some haters. Melinda is the bomb, hell she got my vote.

Wow..you people are unbelievable. Just because someone is not who you think they should be then you get down on them. I think that Melinda is a genuine person with a good heart. I think she does and is surprised with praising reviews because I honestly think that she thought that she would never make it this far. She takes what the judges say as with total admiration. Why dont you just lay off and accept the fact that she is who she is.

Melinda Doolittle is the only person in this competition right now. She has awesome talent. Really nobody can get near her, she is in a class of her own. No matter whether or not she wins American Idol, she is a super star like nothing we have seen before.

I think that Melinda Doolittle didn't expect all this attention and TV exposure. That's why she looks so surprised after the judges say positive things about her performances. She needs to relax and stop being so nervous and intense. She should appreciate all the newfound attention she is receiving. She is a wonderful singer and I hope that some record label signs her up right after this season ends. She needs to get started on her new album after the tour ends--all that talent's she's got, she needs to stay at it.

I would just like to say, from somebody who is friends with Melinda, she is the way she is on TV. There are no airs about her. She is a wonderful Godly woman, and is very humble. Please do not knock someone unless you truely know them. She is only 29! That I can tell you for a fact.

I think Melinda Doolittle is a very special talent, and a beautiful woman (I'm talking real beauty here) and she will be the next American Idol, and will be successful far beyond that,and for years to come.
She is simply a lovely person, with humility. It's sad to see so much skepticism. She touches hearts when she sings, and that's because she can connect with her own very real emotions.

I've said this on the regular show blog and I'll say it here: I know Melinda, have worked with her in one production and seen her in several others, and I can say without hesitation that what you see with her is who she really is: this is no act but simply an honest reaction. Of course she has gotten praise for her voice, but this is a completely different level from a musical production at a theatre in Franklin, Tennessee. I'm sure most people would be overwhelmed by the attention and the audience affirmation that she gets week after week. To pass such stern, if not mean-spirited, judgment on her just because she shows just how she's feeling when she's given high praise is not just unfair--it's cruel and petty.

I am dismayed by the comments that are being made on this post. I know that Mrs. Doolittle is putting herself in the spot light,therefor a little facetiousness is to be expected, but you guys are like, WOO! This is a singing competition not Americas Top Model. That actually comes on another chanel-for all you clueless individual.

Since it seems as though everyone wants to be misanthropic here, let's go there:

Babs: Your 48 years of age did they not teach respect for others when you were growing up? Aren't you a little too old to be slamming anyone? Are you not a mother? Did you teach your kids to be so disropectful to grown adults? You misused the word igenue (definition is a situation or state that causes great suffering and unhappiness) trying to be hip and whitty. Melinda doesn't seem to be suffering anything at this time. I know coming online and typing might be exciting (especially being in a nursing home) but baby get a clue.

Marguerite, Allen, Mellisa and Ren you guys are just pathetic. To be so superficial-sickens me. It's people like you that keep that mess on BET circulating. I, being an African American which they would shut that bull s@@t down. There are still people out here that wants to here good quality music. We could care less if the person is eye candy or not. You guys sound like children and Babs must be head of house hold.

Melinda and Lakisha both are beautiful young ladies and I am tired of people putting them down. Mellisa and Babs I thought with you too being females (I hope) that you would not capitulate to such misogynstic attitude.

Let's be nice here folks. Give the lady credit. Or as my Grandmother use to say "if you don't have nothing nice to say. Don't say nothing at all."

Does it really matter if Melinda is acting surprised? She can sing. This is a singing competition. Lakesha (Ki Ki now) is a great singer but the one contestant that can sing just as well as Ki Ki and Melinda is Stephanie and she's beautiful to boot. That girl could become the next Beyonce. It's eerie how much they sound alike. I also like Haley. I think she's beautiful and has a lovely voice. None of the guys impress me at all.
