My husband and I, both former Katie Couric fans going back many years, just watched her interview Sen. John Edwards and his wife about the new developments in Mrs. Edwards' health and their decision to continue to stay in the presidential race, at least at this time.
We were appalled by Couric's heartless questioning, her battering of them with repetitive indictments supposedly reflecting what the American public feels about their decision, and her opinions of the direction his life should take.
Shame on CBS for letting Couric interview these two people at this very sensitive time!!!
Why was her humanity missing in her interview? She could have brought herself to this interview instead she "left the building" as a human being. (If we recall correctly, she herself lost a spouse to cancer while in the public light.)
Take this poor excuse for a news anchor off your network and do the American public and your viewing audience a favor, please.
We have been avid fans of 60 Minutes for many years. If you continue to allow Couric to repeat this kind of emotional slaughter , we will have no choice but to tune you out.We are sure there are many Americans who feel this way.

Planet Earth is a BBC/Discovery Channel co-production and has already run in the UK, and it is WELL WORTH WATCHING even if you don't have HD. I've seen the first episode thanks to the magic of the internets and David Attenborough is just about one of the best narrators in the history of the nature documentary.

Also, the Discovery Channel "Planet Earth" series debuts tonight might be worth checking out, especially in HD.

The Galactica is scheduled for 65 minutes in the dish network EPG so watch out if you're taping/DVRing it.
