Animation news: Aqua Teen, Simpsons and Spider-Man - VIDEO

by Adam Finley, posted Mar 26th 2007 2:03PM

spider manHey, everybody, here's a few tasty tidbits from the world of animation for you. Please chew carefully:

A fourth trailer for The Simpsons movie was released not too long ago. Most of you have probably seen it already, but if not, I've placed it at the end of this post. The brief shot of Lisa fainting over the cute boy gets me every time. The animation in that sequence is unlike anything they do on the TV series, which leads me to believe this movie is going to kick twelve essential kinds of ass.

Speaking of animated movies I'm looking forward to, I have absolutely no new news on the Aqua Teen movie. However, if you missed the elusive "Carl Wash" episode, it's on The Fix right now.

Do you like Spider-Man? More specifically, the short-lived animated series with Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of our web-slinging hero? Well, it's on iTunes as part of a deal between Apple and Sony that also includes episodes of Charlie's Angels, Newsradio and Starsky and Hutch.

Have you been wondering who will voice Megatron in the upcoming Transformers movie? Because I sure haven't? Well, it's Hugo Weaving, probably best known for his role in the Matrix and Lord of the Rings movies [via Toon Zone].

Drawn Together kicks off its third season on Comedy Central this summer, and hasn't yet been renewed for a fourth season. The duo behind the show, Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser, shouldn't be too worried since they're handing the show over after the third season and heading to 20th Century Fox Television to develop new series (both animated and live-action) and work on existing series, as well.

Finally, here's a couple funny vids to check out: a video for Weird Al Yankovic's "Trapped In The Drive-Thru," and a "TV Funhouse" sequence from SNL called "Maraka" (a Dora the Explorer spoof).

Almost forgot: check out these awesome South Park figures of Tweak and the Underpants Gnomes.
