Is Lance Armstrong getting his own reality show?
Today, NBC wanted to know my reality series viewing habits as well as if I would watch Livestrong With Lance Armstrong, a serialized inspirational series hosted by Lance Armstrong.
Here is how NBC described the series, Livestrong With Lance Armstrong, in their online survey: "In this serialized inspirational series, Lance Armstrong will identify a group of subjects who all desperately need his help to put their lives back on track. They will each have very specific goals and ambitions set for them that will push them well beyond their comfort zone and make them strive for the peak of human achievement. Throughout the series we will interweave their compelling personal stories and their small success stories along the way. From the ex-mountain climber who lost his foot and is suffering from depression trying to re-find himself with Lance and his teams - with the goal of once again literally climbs mountains, to the obese high school student who hides away but with Lance's help conquers not only his weight and emotional issues but also tackles the larger problem of teen obesity, each week will see a continuation of some stories as well as resolution on others."
I'm not sure if I would watch the series weekly. It would probably fall in my "if all other series I watch in the same timeslot are in reruns, I'll watch" category as all episodes will be self-contained. It does sound like the type of series that may have some up us sob or even shed a few tears like when we watch series like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
It is unknown if NBC has shot a pilot of this possible series yet as they may only be in planning stage to see if viewers will respond to it or not. NBC also describes the potential series as "a show full of amazing achievement and a testament to the human spirit."
Fans of Lance Armstrong may recognize the name "Livestrong" as it is also the name of his foundation.
