Prison Break: Sona (season fInale)

by Paul Goebel, posted Apr 3rd 2007 6:51AM

The Escapees(S02E22) I knew this episode was going to begin with a quick recap of the season, but I had no idea we would be treated to the parade of haircuts that we saw. I kind of miss Linc's bald head.

I must admit that by the time the opening credits kicked in, my heart was racing. There were so many loose ends to tie up. Could it possibly be done in just one hour? It's the kind of task that only Michael Scofield himself could accomplish.

The best thing about this finale is that every single character acted exactly the way they should. Nobody steeped out of character, even though Sucre was three pints low, all he could think about was Maricruz. I mean, I've been hung up on a chick before, but he took it to the next level. I can't wait to see what happens.

Kellerman finally did something good. Now before you accuse him of being out of character, remember he had no options. He had lost his job, his credibility and any chance of finally hooking up with Carolyn. He knew it was time to either go out like a man or go to the next level. Personally, I'm not convinced he's dead. Without an actual body, I can't believe anything. I can't wait to see what happens.

Just when you think Mahone can't get any crazier, he surprises you. I'm a little torn, though. I don't know whether I should praise Alex for his desire to reconnect with his family or chastise him for stupidly of forgetting about Mr. Kim. Doesn't Mr. Kim always show up when he's least expected?

Speaking of showing up unexpectedly, I don't know how Sara got to Panama so fast and I don't care. The reunion warmed my heart almost as much as seeing her take out Mr. Kim. His forgetting about Sara could also be considered out of character, but it made perfect sense to me. After suffering so many setbacks, he was bound to make a mistake. I can't wait to see what happens.

The big question, of course, is what the hell is going on at SONA? Was getting Michael to SONA the endgame in all of this? Will he be the guinea pig in some awesome government experiment? Can Bellick suffer any more humiliation? I must admit, as pitiful as Brad looked laying there on the concrete, I had to smile. It was the epitome of comeuppance.

In closing, I want to point out the real crime on Prison Break. The fact that nobody connected with this show ever wins it an Emmy. The acting, the writing, the directing are all some of the best on television and as far as next season is concerned, I can't wait to see what happens.

This is one hell of a great show in years...i must admit. I was such a loser ! My friend left me the dvd copy of the first two season on her visit last summer and I just kept it for months in the drawer until one time i can't find any new movies to watch. Damn me...i barely sleep since i started watching the show and can't wait to go home from work to continue with it. Now, I'm hooked and i can't wait for episode 9 of Season 3.

I agree Robert Knepper deserves an Emmy...that was more than T-Bag and I'm still hoping Sarah isn't really dead that they may reunite with Mike.

"One of the new additions is a female character who is Michael’s equivalent in intelligence,"

that´s one more reason for my idea with the "gen baby".

i believe linc´s father (remember, he worked for "the company") is involved. gen-michael (lol) grewed up without real parrents and lincoln was too young to get it.

so i believe, the new intelligent woman´s michaels gen-sister ;)

Or, he´s a gen-baby (scofield) and they are testing him. (remember, both parents died..)

did u notice how the other man says to the general "THEY got him", how he pronounced the "they"?

farther, it seems like he don´t know all what the general knows, otherwise he wouldn´t say "you know he´s gonna breaking out..", it sounds unsecure if its positive or negative..

i have 2 ideas for the storyline..

1) SONA is something like a Virus. In past the CIA tried experiments with LSD to controll people. may "the company" tries the same, with a drug or virus called SONA. and they are controlling mike to break out and steals something they need from the deep deep inside, so they can catch him (the company) when he did it.

2) sona is just the prison. bellick seemd like he was beaten down. when mike goes to the last open door, you can hear the crowd screaming like there´s a fight or someting. may they have a tournament inside, where only the strongest survive. maybe not only a fight with muscles.. mayB a fight with muscles AND brain.

( 3 ) SONA is a giant projekt and the company needs specific charakters for it. so they use mike to get into the jail, an break out with the specific ones.

what do u think? sorry for my english, i´m swiss ;)

i really don't think kellerman set that up at all... i'm pretty sure his turn of heart was genuine enough that he wouldn't have anyone else killed for his sake. nevertheless, that doesn't rule out the HIGH probability that he is still alive. my guess is that he is still a pawn in this game just like everyone else.
as far as sona goes, i really hate that they didn't really give us any solid clues in this finale... i did have a question though, who is the 'general' who rarely speaks? The one always writing, "SONA?" Is it the old president, from season 1? I dunno, i guess old men look the same to me...

Bellick wardens experience, Mahone investigative experience, T-bag killer instincts together with Schofield as a master mind. What a wonderful team for breaking out.
What do you think it will go???

Lest you also forgotten that Abruzzi once told Schofield that they would meet when they were parting ways. Schofield gave them cab fare each
