House: Fetal Position

(S03E17) Aside from the fact that we got some serious focus on the "feelings" that the House "team" has for each other, their jobs, and life in general, I've got to say that this was one of the better cases that we've seen on the show in some time - or least one really worth talking about in a recap. Yet again, House is also the place for guest appearances, with the All-American Rejects' lead singer, Tyson Ritter, playing himself having photos taken for a cover of some publication. I think I watch enough television to have seen a decline of this across the board, but it seems to be back in full effect on a lot of progams.
As for Chase and Cameron, who were "busted" on the makeout tip in the janitor's closet last week, there's no hanky panky going on for them at the moment, but there's something more than just them seeing each other as a sex object going on. Cuddy clearly has had a moment when she is listening to their patient, Emma, talking about being 42 and how that was too old to be having another go at having a baby. At the same time, House hearing that Cuddy would trust him as the person to save her baby (fetus!) was a bit touching, too.
Most curious this week was that there was either some serious effort to work in a political / moral / ethical belief discussion about pregnancy, abortion and the baby vs. fetus discussion that House seemed so prone to be part of, or it just felt that way to me. The meshing of Emma taking photos of what was "inside" her subjects and House's reaction to the fetus (baby!) when he grabbed the doctor's finger was absolutely perfect, though. Whatever your beliefs are on this particular touchy subject, I thought it was well done, purposeful or not.
Back to Cameron and Chase, though. Now that the cat is out of the proverbial bag, we could potentially see some "issues" arise with the crew, but at the least I think there is more of a "relationship" blossoming between the two doctors. The photos taken of the two of them showed something about each - to each other - which were surely placed there by Emma, who was quite smart when it comes to people, even though I thought there was a missed opportunity with her talking to Cuddy about House, or vice versa.
As the show drew to a close, I found myself wondering what would happen if House went on a multi-week vacation, even though new episdes are still set to come on for the next few weeks. As it turns out, his tearing up of the airline ticket solved that problem, so it's expected he'll show up randomly at work, and probably in just the nick of time. Or, maybe he'll just need his prescription filled and need to talk to Wilson.
Note: On a typical day, you'd have been reading this much earlier in the day. Unfortunately, my TiVo and my cable aren't having a good time together at the moment, and the digital cable channels aren't recording off the TV without a box, so I'm more than a bit behind in catching up on shows of late. Thanks for your patience!
