The Daily Show: April 16, 2007

Of course, there wasn't much on the news apart from the tragic Virginia Tech shootings. I was curious to see how The Daily Show would handle the situation and, as it turned out, they chose to acknowledge it and then, as Jon put it, repress it and pretend everything is okay with the world. Let's make fun of the government and their poor e-mailing habits, shall we?

Yes. Let's.

"The Amazing Erase": "FREE HOT LUNCH?" made me laugh out loud, which was a welcome moment from the doom and gloom of the day. It seemed like the audience was desperate to have a good laugh too (c'mon, they laughed at "The Amazing Erase"). Jon's conversation with Ted Stevens seemed like it was sloppily put together, but it was still very enjoyable... Mainly because of Stevens' very defiant "NO!"

Jason Jones stopped by to show just how easy it is to accidentally mass-delete e-mails in Microsoft Outlook. Too bad his timing was so off the accompanying video. However, Jones managed to redeem himself with a Magneto/Electro joke.

The night's guest was Former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card. This was a very friendly interview, but I don't think I learned much. I don't think Card was there to even promote anything... Hmm.

Jon/Stephen: None. Moment of Zen: Bush don't trust e-mail.
