The Daily Show: April 23, 2007

Jon Stewart"Faisceau-F@#k-Au Palais de L'Elysee": French President Jacques Chirac -- whose name is more fun to obnoxiously repeat than my own -- will not return for a third term.

"Bad Impressions?": Senior Washington Correspondent John Oliver stopped by to continue the Alberto Gonzalez coverage. He explained exactly why Bush would let such incompetence to flourish around him... Obviously, Bush would rather have his people sound like idiots than divulge inside information on the administration. Logical! I'm glad they're not using Oliver non-stop now. Always in moderation, folks.

"Man v. Earth: The Wreckoning": Samantha Bee filed an Earth Day report, asking if it's us destroying the earth... or the other way around. I loved the shots of Bee walking around, tossing around plastic bottles and pouring Coke right onto the sidewalk.

The night's guest was Time's Matt Cooper. Yes, the Valerie Plame case Matt Cooper. I thought the interview was pretty interesting. Jon posed a lot of really good questions that seemed to surprise even Cooper.

Jon/Stephen: Stephen Colbert's gung-ho for Earth Day. Kashi jokes are always good with me. Moment of Zen: Rich Little is no Stephen Colbert... Lucky for Bush.

That shot from the end credits of Samantha charging $1 to screw the earth (a globe with a hole in it) was hilarious. I wish the folks who bought the show from iTunes could see more of correspondents segments that were cut for time.
