Studio 60 returns May 24

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 27th 2007 4:02PM

Studio 60You knew I'd be the one to tell you this news, right?

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip returns to the NBC schedule on May 24, presumably to just run the rest of the episodes they have filmed. Hopefully they knew they were ending early while filming so they can end the show in a good way.

By the way, May 24 is a Thursday. The show will air at 10pm in the slot currently occupied by ER. I wonder what would have happened to the show if it had originally been in this slot, or maybe an hour earlier. Oh well. I guess the best way to think of it now is as a long miniseries, one that will have around 22 episodes and a conclusion.

What have you done to this series. You had something good and intellegent and you blew it. I wish you executives would bring the show back. Let's hear it to bring this series back.

This has been the most adult shows on TV this year. What is the matter with those stupid Executives that pulled this show. Rethink what you have done. It seems to me that any sort of intellegence on TV will be removed as soon as it runs just a little while. This removal has me thinking about my viewing ABC. Too bad another channel does not pick up this series.

With such exciting shows as American Idiots, Dancing with the Wanna be's, and a whole host of other dribble, a well scripted, well acted, drama was sure to be a failure. We have gotten truly to the lowest common denominator when it comes to what is on television. Studio 60 was extremely well written the character development was a little slow but coming on strong and another season would have surely made this show strong. In our instant gratification era no network is going to take that chance. Although NBC should know better they have had many dramas over the years that took time to find their audience and went on to long runs. Including it's Sorkin predecessor The West Wing. Long live the History Channel!

Too bad. My wife and I liked the show.
Maybe an independent will pick it up?
Too much good there to waste.

I think to get rid of Studio 60 is a mistake! I look forward to watching that show every week. The writing is good, the cast is great. I think it's better than SNL!

NBC should find another time slot and give the show another chance. This is the first time I've ever commented on a television show. I can't believe this!!!

Is there anything we can do to save this show?

I'm from the UK and apparently it will be shown here on either CH 4 or More 4 soon, (i wait with baited breath.). I do not fully understand the sweeps and ratings stuff that you guys speak of but does anyone know for sure if it is to return with a second series?

I love the show!!! I watched every episode and do not wish to see my Fav ER go anywhere, but I do think that if the show was on Thursday at 9pm I would definitely watch it over my current CSI.

the show started great but the last 3 or 4 episodes were like if Sorkin was in a hurry to make it work.. everything just happened very fast and they forced the romance plot...

i hope they can fix the show in this new episodes (and that includes killing this annoying harriet hayes character :)

but, seeing bradley whtiford and matthew perry again is graet anyway

ps: please, forgive my writing i'm Spanish :)

This is a great show, a real shame that it got canned. I am looking forward to the last six episodes. I am in the UK, so it will probably never be shown over here at all.
