Sci Fi announces summer lineup and premiere dates
Via the Futon Critic, here's what's on tap on the Sci Fi Channel:
First of all, here's what's returning:
Eureka comes back for a second season July 10 (as mentioned before). I only caught a couple episodes of the first season, but I liked what I saw. If you tend to avoid Sci Fi because you think it's all deep, dark and profound stuff like Battlestar Galactica, you should give Eureka a try. It's quirky and fun without being trite.
Ghost Hunters returns June 6. I don't watch this show because ghosts aren't real. Of course, that's not really a reason not to watch it, is it? I watch the Flintstones even though humans and dinosaurs didn't actually exist at the same time. Maybe I should just shut my mouth. Yeah, I think I should. Fine, then, I will.
Anyway, Doctor Who is also coming back to kick off it's third season on July 6, but Brad already told you that.
Finally, a second season of Who Wants to Be a Superhero? takes flight on July 25. But again, you already knew that.
Now on to the new stuff:
Destination Truth: This new "reality" series follows Josh Gate to different locations around the world where strange and unexplained occurrences have taken place. It debuts June 6 at 10:00 p.m.
Derren Brown Project: This still-untitled series debuts July 25 at 10:00 p.m. It will focus on acclaimed mentalist Derren Brown. I dismissed this new series at first as just another showcase for some charlatan like Sylvia Browne or James Van Praagh, but Brown fully admits he can't really read minds and that his whole act is just a trick. I may have to check this one out.
Last but not least, that Flash Gordon series we've been talking about starts August 10.
