American Idol's Live 2007With 70 million votes pouring in after last week's American Idol, it's pretty safe to say that hardcore fans of the show do exist.

Luckily, the American Idols Live tour dates were released yesterday and should help to alleviate the fan depression that comes along with the shows looming finale.

The tour is slated to occur between July 6th and September 22nd and lands at 50 different locations across the country and includes a stint in Canada.

If you happen to live in close proximity to one of these cities, this may be your only opportunity to see this year's top 10 in the flesh.

Most tickets appear to be going on sale at the respective venues on Saturday, May the 19th in the early A.M..

If you yearn to see Sanjaya, Blake, Lakisha, Melinda, the Chris', Gina, Jordin, Haley, and Phil sing in person, your chance to purchase tickets is fast approaching.

Head over to the news portion of the American Idol official Fox Site for more details.

JJ - I must be twice your age. Is that why have half your common sense?

Boy, did I get the carp kicked out of me for questioning the choice of Bon Jovi as music legend of the week! THANK GOD I was the casualty and not Jordin Sparks.

Last week I wrote, in defense of the show vs. the votefortheworst crowd, that the Idol audience somehow manages to get it right. I'm thrilled not to have to choke on my own words. Two fine performances, by Phil and Chris, were not enough to push the superior but Bon Jovi-challenged Jordin out of the competition.

BTW: I respect Bon Jovi for being a humanitarian, for not having had plastic surgery, for being a good vocal coach, for his emotional maturity, and I envy his hair (heck, I envy anyone's hair). But none of these, not even 120 million records sold, sets the standard for what qualifies one to be a pop legend, either as a writer or singer of songs. If it were, then Britney is 2/3 of the way there, with decades to go. 40 years from now, we'll see who sings Bon Jovi or Britney on Idol 46, 80s week.

OK, so I'm old. I really like Taylor Hicks, like you all seemed to just a year ago, but really guys, what WAS Robert Thicke doing on stage. That fauxetto whining out its "I'm-so-sexy" gibberish is number one on the R&B charts?!! I thought R&B had something to do with Rythm and Blues.

Well, next week we find out what the Idol producers have in mind by "Boogie." All's OK. Even if Blake wins it all, the Idol crowd will have kept the best three singers in the competition thru the Top 4. My hat's off to them - sorry, no hair.
