Lifetime orders more episodes of Blood Ties

by Bob Sassone, posted May 8th 2007 8:46AM
Blood TiesLifetime - is it still "television for women?" - has ordered nine more episodes of the Canadian-made horror-romance series Blood Ties. The network will air the last nine episodes of this current order in October (though new episodes continue to air now, Sundays at 10). The big hiatus is so the network can premiere new shows.

How is this show? I watch Entourage at that time, and I always forget to set the TiVo for this. Is it worth it? The premise sounds a bit like Forever Knight, though I know this isn't about a vampire cop but a private eye that gets involved with vampires. Looks more romantic/dramatic than the Geraint Wyn Davies show. Is there action too, and maybe some scares?

I love Blood Ties! I'm portuguese and I have to download it from the internet, because we don't have Lifetime here -_- . I'm waiting for the rest of the season!

I really like Blood Ties and I am glad there will be more episodes. I have bought all current episodes on iTunes also. I have the complete seasons of Buffy and Angel and I used to watch Forever Knight, but I don't compare them to each other because there is no point. I enjoy each show for what it is. If you google search vampire lore, you will find a wide and varied mythology. Bram Stoker's Dracula could move around in daylight, for example, but he was just weaker. So, for those who don' t like the show, don't watch it! It's bad enough that network executives take off shows that I really like to watch before they really give them a chance to develop and find their audience. I hate that several shows I watched and wanted more of were canceled even before a complete season was aired. That is a problem with our American culture; we want instant gratification and no longer understand that patience is an important quality too.

LOVE Blood Ties!! I'm a little frustrated by the break in the middle but I'm hoping that Lifetime will put a big advertising push behind the rest of the season when it airs in October. For those playing catch up they should start reruns of the first episodes in September. If you like the supernatural mythology or if you like fiesty love triangles or if you like episodic detective stuff or if you like really solid intelligent strong female leads or if you just like to look at hot people (Christina is on an equal footing there with Dylan and Kyle) than you ought to check it out. Worth the time.

I for one can't wait for Blood Ties to return to TV. I have been a huge fan of the books for a long time and think the series is wonderful. I don't think they could have found any better actors to portray the characters. Kyle Schmid is awesome in his part. He looks sort of like I thought Henry would. I always pictured Vicki as being a little taller but love Christina's portrayal of her. And Dylan makes the perfect Mike.

I hope that Lifetime picks it up for at least 2-3 more seasons. I have plenty of friends who enjoy it as well and am waiting eagerly for something to watch on TV on Sundays again.

Bloodties is a well written show. I am happy to hear it will be back & I hope other viewers will hook into this show. Vicky & Henry work off each other so well. Henry's acting & facial expressions are a pleasure to watch--he's so charming & sexy. Vicky is my kind of woman-strong & doesn't take any stuff from anyone--very pretty lady. I wish Lifetimes would promote Bloodties like they are promoting "Army Wives.

Blood Ties is FANTASTIC!!!!! It totally blow Buffy out of the water! Kyle Schmid is everything a vampire should be: graceful, charismatic, charming, beautiful... Tied in with Christina Cox who plays a bad ass private eye, this show is SOOOO worth watching!!!!!!

Love the show! I would love to see the first few episodes that I missed be reaired this summer. Henry is hot! Who cares that it doesn't follow vampire folklore. I tend to like things that take another point of view. That is what good writing is all about. The sexual tension between Henry, Vicki, and Mike just adds to the suspense and plot. Give it some time to develop. Even though it is not like Angel or Buffy which I love, it has its own positives and great potential. Lifetime, keep showing it. I love it!

Glad to see Blood Ties being renewed for more episodes. What a hunk Kyle Schmid is! I remember him from the Disney movie Alley Cat Strike. Boy has he grown up! I love the chemistry between Henry and Vickie. Hope they get together sometime.
