When I said who cares about feminine progress earlier, I was in error. I meant to say who cares about FEMINIST PROGRESS? I believe there is a distinction between the two. Also, I don't agree with Adam's politically correct spin on a show that I feel is more ridiculous and absurd than sexist.

Who cares about feminine progress, period? As for Dee, if your co-worker looked like that tennis player Mark, would you still consider what he said funny? The whole premise on which this series is based is totally absurd.

I wasn't going to watch the show but I was curious. The fact of the matter is, none of the participants knew what they were in for. When the older women were shown who their potential bachelor was, they were surprised to find that he was to be a younger man. Also, Mark was surprised by the age of the women when they first came out. It seemed that the show prepared the younger women about what was to come....so, the producers already shown favortism. However, the older women took it in stride and they were very mature about it. While the younger women were a bunch of brainless babes. If Mark want kids, then he needs to choose a younger woman. If he doesn't want kids, then a connection with an older womae is not such a bad idea; given the fact that at least the older womae can carry on with a conversation and have it all together.

Hello? Is anybody really thinking this show is for real? Have we all forgot that this man is looking to have children? If so, why in the world would he choose a 46 or 48 year old woman? Of course he is going to HAVE to chose some of the 40-something women just to make himself look like a nice guy. But in reality, he would be nuts to choose any of the women over 40...unless by having children he means theirs? What a waste of his time.

I agree with Jake. In reality, no single, hot professional tennis player would choose a 40 something woman over a 20 something woman, ever. For anyone to believe otherwise is complete sophistry (look it up). He is being paid to do this, and the entire show has been scripted before it was even cast. He will pick a 40 something woman, because that is the main demographic of the show and it is in the best interest of NBC to make it's demographic feel good about themselves, and the 40 something women watching are happy to be deluded. After the show is over, he won't really date this woman (they're just cowrokers on a TV show, and they are just acting). He'll just go back to banging random 18-21 year old hard bodies like he already does currently. There is no reality in this show.

The producers of this show are morons. For this to be a fair situation, the male contestant should be 35....**NOT** 30! This makes it skewed towards the 20-somethings right from the start.

A 35 year old is in the MIDDLE between the extreme age of a 40-something (i.e., 49 going on 50) & the extreme age of a

20-something (i.e., just turned 20). Then he would be around 15 years from both of these extremes if he were 35.

INSTEAD, a 30 year old is only 10 years older than a 20 y.o. & almost TWENTY years younger (YIKES !!) than a 49 year

old !!

On the other end, a 30 year old can be very close in age to a 20-something (if she's 29 y.o.), yet can only get to be 10

years close in age to the youngest 40-something (a 40 year old).

This show caught my attention because My husband is a tennis pro, as well its my second marriage. My husband is going to turn 35 in August I turned 42 in Febr. I have 2 grown daughters 19 and 16 from my first marriage.
This show interests me because just today I heard a comment from a male co worker as we discussed the show he is 35, he said who would want a 48 year old, all dried up. Its funny because he is bald and looks older then 40...
I think this show is good to break these stereotypes. Im in better condition then most women in their 20's and in some cases people think my oldest daughter and I are sisters. My husband loves me not because of my age. We had a connection and mutual love for each other.
I have to live with this stereotype all the time. I never thought I would marry someone younger then me but I did, I loved him and we have an exciting life together. We share the same passion for sports, travel and adventure.
Our age difference brings different interest to our marriage and we enjoy that.
Im looking forward to seeing what happens, however I do tend to think that he would probably end up with some one either slightly younger then him or slightly older maybe 40. 18 years might be a big gap.. Its more acceptable as your older then at 31. Its always been okay for men but unacceptable for women, times are changing. If he is serious about a relationship, He will need a mature women who can handle the stresses of his job and mix well with the public and handle the stresses associated with that.
