Stump the King - Star Trek

by Paul Goebel, posted May 14th 2007 1:26PM

Mark Lenard as SarekOkay, gang, this week I need a little help. I got a letter from a guy named Rick and here it is:

"I have been trying to remember a TV show from back in the '70s. From what I can remember, a scientist was working on a device to let people walk again. He was attacked and his back was broken. He then worked on making it work on him, witch (sic) in turn he built a suit which incorporated his invention. he then put it all in a delivery truck and used it to drive all over and fight crime. he would lay down in the bottom part of the suit and the top would come down and seal him in. it was all self supported and air tight."

Now before I get a hundred wrong answers, the show was not MANTIS. I have a vague memory of this show and it was similar to MANTIS but the star was white and it premiered in the late '70s. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Now on to this weeks question.

This is for Star Trek fans only...

What is the name of Sarek's second wife?

I'm sure I will get plenty of wrong answers on this one, so I will update the post when I get the right one.

Mike M was the first to get the right answer. According to Star Trek 5: The Final Frontier, Sarek's first wife was a Vulcan princess making Amanda Grayson his second wife. Thanks for the help with Exo Man.

He was Iron man for the seventies without Marvel licenses.

Tell Rick, he's looking for a horrible show called Exo-Man. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076008/

WooHoo! lol. I'd like to thank the academy and, oh who am i kidding...Paul, I think I need to pop my STV dvd in and check it...as stated above, I don't recall it saying for sure that he was married to the princess, I know in the Novel Sarek, he is married to her, but in cannon, i was uncertain. I owe my victory to your silence. lol

According to The Star Trek Encyclopedia,
"(Sarek's) first wife was a Vulcan princess with whom he had a son named Sybok.Following the death of his first wife, Sarek married Amanda, a human woman with whom he had a son named Spock. At the time of his death in 2368, Sarek was married to Perrin, another human woman."

Anyone can remember Perrin, but as to the first question posed, about the crimefighter in the suit that made him walk... (and was airtight, with a limited air supply that on at least one occasion nearly lead to him suffocating) I believe the title was EXO-MAN.

since Sybok was the son of some random chick princess lady, are you insinuating, Paul, that Amanda Grayson is the second wife? If so, I'd have to disagree, because it was never established that the princess chick and Sarek were ever married. But I'll throw it out since you haven't updated the post yet.
