Animation news: Brak is back, He-Man movie moves forward, and other stuff - VIDEO
First of all, some Adult Swim news:
The first Brak Show webisode is now online. Go watch it.
Also, some cool news for Metalocalypse fans: a brand new Dethklok album will be released on September 25, followed by the release of the first season DVD one week later. Before all of that, however, a brand new 2nd season, with that fresh "2nd season smell" will hit Adult Swim one week before the CD release. NOTE: Thanks to Holly for pointing out that this information changed since I first posted this.
Finally, you can bid on a tour of the Robot Chicken studio. Seth Green himself will be your tour guide.
In other animation news:
Remember that He-Man movie I told you about? It's still happening, and Joel Silver is attached to the project. In my previous post I said Underdog scribe Adam Rifkin was writing the script, but that's apparently no longer true (or was never true to begin with). Instead, Justin Marks is writing the live-action adaptation (and also working on an adaptation of Voltron, apparently). The new He-Man movie will be done in the same greenscreen style as 300, at least, that's what Silver and his producing partners would like to do. I must admit, that could be pretty sweet.
In August, look for a new primetime animated series on ABC Family called Slacker Cats. The series will be voiced by Nicole Sullivan of MAD TV, Niecy Nash of Reno 911, and Alex Borstein of Family Guy, among others. The serious centers on two cats, Buckley and Eddie, who, as the title suggests, are slackers.
Oh, yeah: a year ago I mentioned a great animation video posdcast called Frederator, created by the studio behind shows like The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom. The episodes consist of different animated short films, and are now available on YouTube. Check them out.
Finally, enjoy some Foghorn Leghorn:
