Rosie is posting videos about leaving The View

by Anna Johns, posted May 27th 2007 1:10PM
rosie o'donnellRosie O'Donnell has added a new element to her website (regarding her exit from The View): video. She and her producers stylist (who left The View with her) are talking about Rosie's last day and the big blow up between Rosie and Elisabeth Hasselbeck that essentially ended Rosie's time on The View about three weeks early.

Rosie and her producer speak in very general terms, but I interpreted their conversation as blaming the three hosts and the directors of The View for ganging up on Rosie. They talk about "smelling a rat on Monday" before the split-screen debate between Rosie and Elisabeth. It's the split-screen, by the way, that made Rosie quit early. She doesn't really explain why, but her producer compares it to Jerry Springer and I, personally, was reminded of all the chatter on the 24-hour news networks. I think she was tired of being a spectacle.

She also says that she has not spoken with Elisabeth and probably will not speak to her. They have exchanged e-mails and she seems content with that.

I don't know Rosie personally and I don't like The View, but watching this video made me realize that Rosie is both upset about the split-screen debate, but also about the war in Iraq. She gets very emotional near the end of the video as she answers readers' questions about her views and it is obvious that this war is deeply upsetting to her.

I saw the debate and I don't really understand why Rosie is so upset. I think this was the last straw for her. She has been attacked from all directions for everything she has said in the last year (and, let's face it, she hasn't said anything all that profound). I think she is tired of being the headline-maker for The View and being used by the creators of The View to get ratings. She is often covered in the press for her comments and no one at The View seems to be coming to her defense.

early today I made some comments about Rosie and Barbara. I realize it is not my job to judge them or anyone else. In case either of them read this, I am truly sorry for my comments.
Please forgive me.

I've almost never agreed with Rosie before on political matters, but when she started bringing up the "issue" that led to all this recent hype, I couldn't help but see that maybe there was something to it. There was simply too many people trying desperately to shut her up.

It's a testament to how far our country has slid into the gutter when someone can't even speak their mind without talking heads calling for their firing, execution, and all the other things being said by the false conservatives who think they actually matter anymore.

Aw, poor widdle CaptainMoron doesn't like it that his precious study hasn't become the gold standard.

Sorry, dickwad, the truth is the truth, and there were plenty of websites debunking that study. That's why no one talks about it anymore.

I guess you will just have to deal with the fact that sometimes the news contains things that go against the conservative ant brain - like the war in Iraq is not a feel-good love fest where the citizens throw garlands at our troops while they ride pretty horses around town square. It won't have that ending, it never will. But of course that's the media's fault for reporting it instead of reporting pretty sidebar stories the Bush administration wants.

As for being a hairly-legged lesbian, but of course! What heterosexual woman would disagree with your scintillating ability to get a point across. Why, I bet women everywhere swoon when reading your words. Who but a lesbian would disagree?

Sorry, no media bias except the delusion conservatives appear to need in order to go on.

Would you like a tissue? Or a bag to breathe into.

Donna,

Nice try, but getting information from a liberal lesbian linking to an article written by a liberal on a site read by fewer people than the average high school football stadium can hold is like trying to put out a forest fire with an eye dropper. There's only 2 things libbies can do well, run for Canada like scared sissies and lie. Oh wait they're good at aborting babies, keeping serial killers from being put to death, raising taxes and engaging in homosexual relationships.

Okay, so I was wrong about there being only 2 things socialists can do well. Suck on it and deal, hairylegs!

Gee, CaptainMoron, good attempt.

But the UCLA study has been called on the carpet as being deeply flawed because of the way the research was done.

Plus, check out the following excerpt which tells us that the two researchers are deeply conservative themselves, surprise, surprise.

"Groseclose and Milyo make much of the fact that universities paid for their research -- their own salaries, those of their research assistants and their substantial Lexis-Nexis bills. "No other organization or person helped us fund this research project," they write at the outset. Yet both researchers tilt sharply to the right themselves.
Groseclose has been a National Fellow of the Hoover Institution; Milyo a fellow of the Heritage Foundation. Their disclaimer brings to mind an old dictum associated with the late, great Laurence Stern of the Washington Post: "Punctiliousness in the matter of small debts is usually a sign of a developing scam."

Not only that, but the person who paved the way for the study to be ushered into print was Robert Barro, famous conservative economist at Harvard. The whole article:

http://www.economicprincipals.com/issues/06.01.01.html

There are quite a few others. This study was lauded, especially by conservatives when published almost two years ago, and then many fell silent as so many began to debunk the research, which, on its original face looked impressive and decidedly non-partisan. It wasn't.

So, the first part of your post tells us how badly conservatives still gnash their teeth and want to believe that every publication, radio and tv show that does not blare what they want to hear must be a dreaded liberal enemy.

The second part of your post only proves that you are a Froot Loop, in desperate need of a check up from the neck up.

I blame Barbara Walters! I am not a Rosie nor Elisabeth fan. However, the View knew what they were getting him they brought her own board and threw Star Jones under the bus.

Elisabeth and Rosie are UNWATCHABLE! Rosie feels pain and emphathy for the troops, however, she is loud and too opinionated. Elisabeth has been brainwashed so badly that she can never giver an original opinion against Bush, the Bush Administration, nor the Republican party no matter how horrible they are.

Elisabeth is childish and stupid.

Snippet from UCLA News in late 2005 with link to full article afterward:

"Meanwhile, almost all major media outlets tilt to the left.
These are just a few of the surprising findings from a UCLA-led study, which is believed to be the first successful attempt at objectively quantifying bias in a range of media outlets and ranking them accordingly."

I guess even UCLA, which is solidly in the left corner of the ring, is part of that conservative conspiracy, eh, you granola-crunching, spineless, socialist shitbags? Stuff that in your crack pipes while you abort your babies and save murderers.

Whew! AlaineBGoodE you really know how to punch, but your argument seems more emotional than reasonable. So, where do I begin? Let’s start with the most ridiculous of your statements, the “Barack, the Magic Negro” comment. Let me see, Joe Biden took guff for the remark, ““It’s good to have a clean, articulate black man running for President.” I suppose it’s okay to insinuate that, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are not clean and less than articulate. Let’s be honest, if a conservative were to say this there would have been hell to pay politically and personally. Additionally, Biden wasn’t the only one referred to in this parody. There were numerous Democrats, both white and black, who questioned if Mr. Obama was black enough or had the Civil Rights credentials to be a candidate. Again, if a Conservative had said anything like this the press would have crucified them. Sorry, “kindly Liberal bigotry” does exist but you can’t see it. Please note that no major news outlets or politicians come out against the parody. Why? Because they know that they would be exposing themselves as the bigots they are and liberals refuse to admit to their own prejudices.

Now let’s address the “And if you truly are an Hispanic, then you, as a minority, should be ashamed of yourself” comment. Like most liberals, you expect all Hispanics (any minority for that matter) to be in lock step with your liberal views. Let me tell you, American minorities do not neatly fit neatly into any particular philosophy. Yes, as a group, we tend to vote Democratic (I’m a registered Democrat) but it is also true that most minorities live conservative lives. Unfortunately, we have been stereotyped into that “good little Mexican” (any minority fits here) type image. That image has been fostered and propagated by the majority for as long as I can remember. Promises, welfare and other such government programs have done its work on minorities. In general, we have bought into the “we will help you’ mentality, and out of necessity, have accepted that. Fortunately, I was brought up believing that I can accomplish whatever I set my mind to accomplish. All I ask from the majority is to not get in the way or block the door of opportunity. I don’t ask that they let me slip through a crack ahead of anyone more deserving. I don’t want to take the opportunity from someone else I just want to compete fairly, and I don’t want the government to take away that opportunity to compete fairly. We, the minorities, are not ignorant, or genetically inferior we are just hurt. We are hurt by the attitude and kindly bigotry that comes from the left. Over the years we have been conditioned to be victims, and that suites the Liberal Democrats just fine. Everything you see coming from the Left, legislatively and personally, forwards that agenda. So, now let me say this, how dare you tell me that I should be ashamed of myself for my beliefs. You are not in the position to make that comment to me. You are so bold in you prejudice as to attempt to impeach the integrity of a fellow Hispanic, Alberto Gonzalez. And yes, I am a Democrat, a “Kennedy Democrat” who sees his party falling into the hands of socialists who mask themselves as liberals. I’m certain that comment will raise some hackles, but I simply do not care. I am tired of being pigeonholed by the likes of you. And one other point, I don’t know who you are, how old you are or where you come from. I worked for the election of Bobby Kennedy and believed in what he stood for. The Bobby Kennedy I supported, back then, would not have accepted what has happened to his party today.

I had planned to respond to the inane comments from you and Donna, but you have made this more personal rather than comments on liberal bias and Rosie. Rather than continue this type of dialogue I will not respond to anymore of your empty, biased and at times bigoted, diatribe.

those that cared to attack my position (imagine that shock) only prove my point. If I put Jesus in front of you and he said "I like that Bush guy", you'd still go nuts and deny he was Jesus, or find some other way for you to be right.

Wrong people who blindly hold beliefs about things, such as donna and others, are no use arguing with because they've already made up there mind.

There's no "room for debate" as it were. You sad pathetic lot of you.
