The new Dr Who has been brilliant apart from that (& that's without even mentioning Torchwood)

yeah i never trust the sun...and to add to this. popular opinion is that davies is grooming mark gatiss as his replacement. gatiss is a huge fan and was lobbying to play the doctor at one point, but now that he has already appeared as a major character (lazarus in "the lazarus effect")that may be complicated. he has been writing episodes i believe since the new series started and liek i already said is a huge fan. i think he'd be a great showrunner.

I don't think you should be so hard on yourself, Richard, it was an honest mistake to believe the article. :) You'll have to forgive us fans for jumping on this. The Good Doctor has been around for so long that there shouldn't be a doubt that he'll be around for more years to come.

I wasn't going to comment on the original article, because I figured that a correction was in the offing, having followed a similar post/correction in other places on the web on this very subject.

That said, if there was a cheap and easy way of getting Eccleston back in the body of the Doctor, I'm all for it. I'm going to tire of this particular Doctor quickly.

David, Rich isn't from England, so I think he deserves a little slack. There are plenty of people that think the Sun is legitimate. This is primarily due to the fact that they do, sometimes, get things right.

However, at the time he posted his original article, The Guardian had already posted the proper news response to it. Again, the only issue here would be did Rich check his facts, and in this particular situation, it would seem no.
