Barbara Walters to get star on Walk of Fame

barbara waltersThere's not a lot of information just yet, but apparently Barbara Walters will be honored with a star on the Walk of Fame on June 14. Of course, I don't know how much information you really need: she's getting a star, end of story.

But why Barbara Walters? According to IMDb she appeared on an episode of Maude, but I'm not sure that really qualifies her to be on the walk of fame. Though I suppose she is famous in her own right, even if it is for her work in news and daytime yakfests.

I wanted to get Walters' take on this, but since she's difficult to get a hold of, I spoke with her star instead:

Me: This must be thrilling for you, being the 2,340th star on the Walk of Fame.

Star: Yeah, I wonder who I'm representing?

Me: Barbara Walters.

Star: Really? That lady from that episode of Maude?

Me: She's also a TV journalist. She's best known for her work on 20/20 and The View.

Star: Well, good for her.

Me: Are you concerned about the hundreds of people who will walk on you every single day?

Star: No, that's actually a form of sexual stimulation for us.

Me: This interview is over.

Star: Would you mind stepping on me on the way out?

Me: No.

Star: I'll give you twenty dollars.

Me: I said no.

Stars on the Walk of Fame are not a measure of anything. They are bought and paid for. Just send your money to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and get your own.....
