The Daily Show: June 6, 2007

Jon Stewart"Clusterf@#k to the White House": Man, Wolf Blitzer isn't having a very good time with these debates. They must have been extremely desperate to kill minutes, making poor Blitzer show the places with candidates keep their water. By the way, I have been hearing nothing but ridiculous things from Mitt Romney. It's astounding. I'm sure The Daily Show could devote an entire week of programming to making fun of Romney. "Non sequitur". Pfft.

Senior Campaign Theologian John Oliver talked about divine intervention and the lightning issues that occurred during Rudy Giuliani's statement on abortion. Was that a scream of terror from a female audience member when Oliver popped up on screen? I think it was.

"Back in Black": Lewis Black covered the new level of creepy that is Google Street View. The audience sounded surprised to see those embarrassing pictures. I guess there weren't many Boing Boing readers in the crowd. Black also talked about Regal Cinema's Guest Response system. There's a good use of money.

The night's guest was Michael Barone, author of Our First Revolution: The Remarkable British Upheaval That Inspired America's Founding Fathers. This was strictly on-topic discussion, so it served as a nice change from last night's interview with Paul Rudd, which was a bit of a free-for all.

Jon/Stephen: Yet another scream of terror from that female audience member. Stephen Colbert offered his own better-than-Jon's commentary on the Republican debates. Moment of Zen: John Boehner goes blah blah blah.

A HUGE improvement over Monday and Tuesday's episodes. No mindless sight gags, Jon kept the goofy voices to a minimum, and the episode didn't look and sound like it thrown together a half hour before taping. I was starting to getting worried about the show earlier this week, but Wednesday episode put things back right.

That link was hilarious! I can't believe Mr. Romney said A null set not THE null set, what an idiot. Your right, devote a whole show to that.
