Lost death pool update: Week sixteen

by Erin Martell, posted Jun 13th 2007 3:21PM

Brian GoodmanThis year's Lost season finale had a huge death count, with victims ranging from nameless Others to major characters. Some characters were shot, some were stabbed, and some were killed by explosives. Many of the finale deaths didn't count towards any death pool scores, but three of them did. We also have a winner in the pool!

All three of the deaths in question occurred during Part Two of "Through the Looking Glass," and each death is worth a total of six points. One death received the five bonus points for being out of the ordinary. Specifics on the deaths and the final standings are available after the jump. Thanks to all of you who participated in the first TV Squad Lost Death Pool! It was an exciting season, to say the least.

Tom, Mikhail, and Charlie met their maker in the the season finale. All the deaths received five points, plus one point for the episode. The nature of Mikhail's death (suicide by grenade in an attempt to kill Charlie) qualified for the five bonus points. While quite a few scores changed this week, two players managed to maintain their lead from last week.

April and ts are tied for first place with 59 points! Congrats! Chris Wyant earned a total of 51 points, just missing the top spot. Participants bbf203, Holli, and Priscilla all earned 46 points. The following people finished with 40 points: Alex, darciedyan, Gregory Capobianco, Hubba, jks, Kat, Kenneth Chong, Kristi Parry, Lauren, PlusDrew, RedStarRevolution, and Tracy. Ed W. and Michael earned 38 points; BlackViking earned 34.

Andrew, Gina, Kris Clark, TuckerKatt, and TVblogger finished with 27 points. The 25-point group includes 1L, apocalypsepony, ck, Dorothy Evins, Heather, Nancy, RSL, Sam Fox, and Will. The following participants finished with 21 points: Brody, Craig, Diana, Don, Dustin, John S., mgamark, michou2880, Morgan, nandy, Sam, Stephanie, and Thomas Cushard. Courtney, Julie, Kelbellene, Mrs. Mga, Sam, shenva79, Trayton, and WadeK earned 19 points. Chucklehead and dtpollitt earned 12 points. Dennis K. earned 11 points.

Last, but not least, those with 6 points: Aaren, Amy, annie415, antoine62, Bas, Brenda Hickland, Brock, Cody, Constantine, Curt, Devon, erroneous_nick, Ethan Rom, Francisco, Harrison, Jen, John Howard, kaufman, Kyle, Laura, LcsNJ, Leia, Mel, Patrick, Ryan, Sean, Stephen, StephenD, and TVGenius.

In keeping with the official rules, the two-way tie was settled by a random drawing. Each first place player was assigned a number (either 1 or 2), and the winner was determined by a random number generator. I'm pleased to announce that the winner of TV Squad's Lost Death Pool is ts! Great job, ts! You have won a set of Lost Season One action figures. Your prize should be arriving soon. In the meantime, give yourself a pat on the back.

Thanks again to everyone who participated!

Seriously, how can you give death points for Mikhail? Did I miss something where Lindlelof and Cruse confirmed his death? The guy has "died" twice already. What makes you think he's dead this time?

Charlie at least is a confirmed corpse. With Mikhail, who the fuck knows, but they've already held off on doing the death poll for weeks, and it's not like they can confirm it until 2008.

Is Mikhail dead?

Off-screen assumed death by explosion rarely keeps a villain dead. Or did I miss something?
