Claire gets a boyfriend on Heroes

Heroes continues to be on rocky ground for me since the season finale and I'm not so sure Claire having a boyfriend will do anything about it.

Take a good concept, muck it up as the show becomes very popular and the creator/writers lose their way from the rush of success. Tack on a lame season finale. Then let viewers know that at least the first episode (probably more) of the new season will take place romping around in 16th century Japan following some people's "favorite" character makes me inclined not to be around long when Heroes returns.

This show, to me at least, is tanking just like LOST. Everyone says LOST has rebounded but after being so thoroughly let down from the second season, I didn't give them a chance to do the same to me again.

I'll be cutting Heroes lose sooner rather than later if my gut feelings prove to be right at the start of season 2 based on my LOST experience.

I'll get the Season 1 DVD and sigh on how good the rest of the series run could have been.

Tell me it's a genetic mutation that gives everyone their powers and be done with it. (For the record, I really didn't care how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader since Episode 1 (or 4 depending on how much you are into Star Wars) gave a simple answer that didn't need 3 movies to say the same thing!)

What I'm really interested is in them learning they have special abilities, how that re-shapes them as people with special abilities and what they do with those special abilities. If there are people trying to destroy/control them for their own purposes-fine. To me, that is/was the appeal of the show.

I sure hope they get back on target, they are already on a short leash with me.

I would like to think that, on top of Claire having all of her "I can't be hurt!" issues to struggle with, she still has to deal with the crap of being a teenage girl as well. Kind of like Cillan Murphy's character in Breakfast on Pluto. His character had to deal with something *other* than gender identity/sexuality (i.e. the IRA bombings). I think this is potential to give the character of Claire some depth.

I'm a huge fan of Heroes and just adore Claire's character, but I'm not too sure about this. I think it's because I'm afraid that it'll make her more into a typical teenage girl character: angsty, brooding over relationships, and filled with issues. I mean, she's got issues now, but they're... non-typical issues. Unnatural stuff, dealing with special powers and world saving and things other teenagers don't have to deal with. I just don't want her to become too much like the typical melodramatic teens on TV. But, I've got faith in the writers. The show has been oustanding, and I think that they will be able to continue that. I'm just a worrier.

Bash, Fantastic 4 the second, is better than the first. I at least like the feelings I got from this movie better than I did the feelings I got from sitting through Superman Returns.

The season finale of Heroes was such a letdown that news like this is only a reminder of how bad season two could be.

All the buildup and then this lame final battle. It felt like "Fantastic Four" all over again.

Now I haven't seen "Rise of the Silver Surfer" yet and I honestly don't really dare to do so because of how crappy the first movie was.

That's how I feel about "Heroes" at the moment. I guess they will stall in the past for a huge part of the fall season and then give a lame-ass explanation about Sylar's whereabouts. *sigh*

Thank god, the connection between Claire and her uncle was getting creepy.

So I guess that Nick won't be reprising his role on the Office then. Good for him though!
