The Lost plane crash clipped together - VIDEO

by Anna Johns, posted Jun 18th 2007 12:03PM
lost; plane crash
Some very talented Lost fan took plane crash clips from the last three seasons and edited them together in a sequence to show what was happening as the plane crashed. Even though the editor doesn't seem to think it's very good, it really is. Sure, the time doesn't match up exactly, but it's pretty damn close. The plane crash is shown in almost real time from the perspective of the passengers, The Others, and Desmond. It shows the cause-and-effect of the near-implosion of the hatch when Desmond doesn't push the button. It's very exciting, though I kind-of think it wouldn't make any sense to anyone who doesn't watch Lost.

Video is after the jump:

Watching this five minute clip made me want to start watching the series again from the beginning. And, hey, I have time since Lost doesn't return until February 2008. Hopefully ABC will let this clip stay up on YouTube for a bit because it seems to be generating excitement among viewers (of course, some are critical about what they consider to be essential missing scenes, but overall I think it rocks).

This version is better and runs over 9 minutes -- and includes Charlie's perspective:

I agree, I think everything matched together very nicely except for the Desmond clips. I think they were shown too late. Overall, quite enjoyable.

What a great perspective of things that happened over such a short period of time but was revealed over three years. (And it ain't done yet!)

There may be a market for a re-cut, linear, shorter syndication or DVD package of the series after it's all said and done. New viewers would like the simpler story and longtime viewers would get to put all the pieces together.

Nicely done indeed. Timeline is wrong though, the "earthquake" should be happening at the same time for both the Others & Desmond, and only once he entered the numbers does it stop, for both him & them.
Then, they go out & watch the plane getting split in two.

Thanks Akbar. I should have just checked Wikipedia in the first place:

RadioScott,

Desmond and Kelvin were arguing about a few things. Mostly, Kelvin had been lying to Desmond and that he had been fixing Desmonds boat and was trying to get away.

I've been watching from the beginning and I've forgotten a few details. What were Desmond and the other guy fighting about? I have trouble remembering his back story, for some reason.

Thats well done for a rough edit. I myself have been pondering editing the whole series in chronological order for fun when it is all done just to see what it would be like.

Very good job, by mrlerone! I'm wondering what the end result might look like if this were done in a professional editing studio.
