Barenaked Ladies on PBS

by Adam Finley, posted Jun 19th 2007 5:21PM

Barenaked Ladies The Barenaked Ladies were one of many bands I had a brief infatuation with, but soon delegated them to "not bad, but I can't listen to them all the time" status. Still, the fellas know how to craft a good pop tune and they have great vocal harmonies, so I don't mind taking their CDs for a spin every now and again.

The band recently filmed a two-hour concert in Detroit, which will be available on TV. Or, alternatively, you can watch the concert on PBS.

When? I have no idea, but sometime later this year or in early 2008.

Also, when I said you could watch the concert on PBS, I meant you could watch a half-hour snippet of it. But it's not as if you get the two-hour version on DVD, as only fifteen songs from the original twenty-four-song set will be included on the DVD, along with a few other cool features.

Really, the only way to see the concert in full is to build a time machine, which is really simple: just decide to make a time machine, then make a note to bring yourself the time machine one second from now. If this works, you should appear next to yourself, inside your new time machine, instantaneously. Take that, Stephen Hawking!

You may not be able to see the concert, but you can download all of their concerts from their website (for a fee, of course). Cool stuff if you're a fan. :)

I love BNL in concert! We saw them at Thanksgiving (for the 5th time- hi, I'm a dork) and they were as great as ever. I don't really listen to their music on a regular basis either, but their concerts are a must-see.
