This actually isn’t surprising. Believe it or not this sort of thing is fairly logical.

Put it this way, I used to live in a small town in Wyoming where the nearest Taco Bell was 3 hours away. At that time I would literally dream of Taco Bell because, to me, it was scarce and scarce resources always have the most value to people. I now live in an area where there are 7 Taco Bell’s within 5 miles of me and Taco Bell is no big deal to me. I still enjoy it but it isn’t the be-all-end-all anymore.

Same here, attractive women have good looking guys hitting on them every day. Accordingly, looks aren’t the scarce commodity. Yes, being a good looking guy is a plus but its one trait weighed against tons of other traits.

The scarcest traits are always given the highest value and I’ve been told by many good looking women that it is much harder to find a smart guy or a funny guy than it is to find a good looking guy. So a woman who can get any good looking guy she wants is going to gravitate to those traits that are harder to find such as sense of humor or intelligence.

As for the hot wife thing...uh, work on the personality, guys. Quick wit, confidence and always being conscientious = easy to hook up with hot women.

Never understood why people made a big deal about the fat guys on TV having hot wives. Watch "The Tao of Steve" if you want a clue into how it works...women aren't as shallow as men. That helps.
