Jimmy Kimmel has an emergency appendectomy

by Joel Keller, posted Jun 21st 2007 10:11AM
Jimmy KimmelJimmy Kimmel is one of the hardest working men in show business, and that's not just some BS title. The guy works overtime on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, no matter how he feels; he even came in the day after a reaction to pain medication swelled his face so badly he couldn't open his eyes.

But even Kimmel can get knocked out by an inflamed appendix. I just got a note from Kimmel's PR rep, Lewis Kay, explaining that Kimmel had to undergo an emergency appendectomy last night, and that the remaining tapings of Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week have been canceled. "He is resting comfortably and is looking forward to getting back to work," says the statement. Knowing Jimmy, he'll try to get back to work on Monday, but I'd imagine he'll be out for at least a couple of weeks.

Jimmy, I can empathize...I had major abdominal surgery last month. Try to take it easy while you can. I'd love to see Clay as the guest host, but I doubt he has the time right now...his summer tour starts in a week or so.

Love both you guys, especially together; i.e., Climmel.

Mmmwah!

GET WELL JIMMY!!!

I second the Clay Aiken substitute host nomination! He's been a great guest on the show and done some hilarious bits with Jimmy.

Jimmy: Hope you feel better soon. A few days rest is not going to hurt you. Maybe if they are doing reruns they will consider one with the other half of Climmel . Get well soon! Really enjoy your show even when Clay is not on there with you. Take good care of him Sara.

I think that Clay's bombastic, yet well done power ballads will be good background music for you to get better soon.

To Jimmy,
I hope that you get better soon. I hope that you get enough rest so that you can return back to taping your late night shows. You have gotten better with your show and getting better musical guests and actors. Your sidekicks are so funny. I don't know if some of them are related to you or not, but they have good comedic chops. I hope you ask Clay Aiken to do a show since he has some good comedic chops and elements himself. Best wishes.

Get better soon, Jimmy. I just love you so much. You are hilarious (did I spell that right?) and I love watching you. You and Clay together are an absolute riot. I just wish you were on earlier where I live. I always have to record you and watch the next day. Hope you're better soon.
