Patterson joins Aliens in America

by Adam Finley, posted Jul 2nd 2007 1:41PM

scott pattersonScott Patterson, who played Luke Danes on Gilmore Girls, will star in the CW's Aliens in America, a new comedy that airs Mondays this fall.

Aliens in America focuses on the friendship between two sixteen year olds: an American high school, Justin Tolchuk (Dan Byrd) and his friend, a Muslim exchange student named Raja Musharaff (Adhir Kalyan). Patterson will play Gary, Justin's father. He's taking over the role from Patrick Breen, who portrayed the father in the pilot episode.

There's no word on why Breen was replaced, though I would assume they wanted to go with someone a bit more appealing to the ladies. Of course, maybe Breen is appealing to some women, I wouldn't know, not being a lady and all.

Patterson will also be appearing in the movie Saw IV.

This is not the show for Scott. He does not have a major role in the show. The two boys have the major roles. Also this show will not have the worldwide appeal Gilmore Girls had because of it's delicate subject matter. Scott deserves alot better.

They will have more viewers from GG fans now with Patterson on board. Since GG is not coming back I hope SP has a success at whatever role he chooses to do.
I have read comments elsewhere from people saying they hope the show fails because they actually believe GG has a chance of being revived. And, those comments are from supposed fans - actually wishing Patterson's show fails.
