Say hello to Morning Joe

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 2nd 2007 10:22AM

Joe ScarboroughIt looks like the rumors are true: Joe Scarborough is getting the Don Imus spot on MSNBC.

Howard Kurtz at The Washington Post is reporting that Scarborough and MSNBC are in final negotiations to make his Morning Joe show the permanent show in the 6am to 9am slot on the network. Scarborough has been filling in (with other hosts, such as David Gregory) since Imus went bye-bye, and has been getting good buzz (though not ratings). Some CBS radio stations might pick up the show as well.

There was some talk that Rosie O'Donnell might get a show on MSNBC. But now that Scarborough has this gig (and Dan Abrams might stay in Scarborough's old nighttime slot), there seems to be less room for her on the schedule. Unless they get rid of those documentaries about prisons they seem to run every night.

I have been trying my best to watch Morning Joe but the show has become nothing but a 'blame America first' bashfest. Even Imus was on America's side.

Here's an idea for a new feature of Morning Joe. You could call it "Do tase him (Joe)." In this feature, Mika has a taser gun and zaps Joe whenever that ego-bloated jerk starts cutting her down (such as calls her "Baby," takes smarmy swipes at her views/values/background, makes digs at her family, interrupts her news/comments, refuses to let her ask questions of guests, or says anything about her looks. Being tased about every 5 minutes, 15 hours a week for a few months may be the only way to train Joe how to be a professional media-person and less of a chauvinist pig. Mika, you go girl!

The show is adolescent. This morning they were giggling like teenage girls about Sting being seen in a German night club. Oh my! Certainly, they have something better to worry about.

After watching Morning Joe more, I have come to the conclusion that Joe and Mica do not like each other, he has such a great sense of humor and she has NONE, the weather and the stock market women laugh and go along with Joe and do their job. I hope you re think the situation if you are really thinking Mica, I would like to wake up and watch someone laughing and cutting up, rather than real testy with each other Thank Jo

Joe is a great guy, very smart, funny and from what I hear a good husband and father. He definitely does not need Mica around, she is too flighty, he needs someone intelligent like he is and someone with a good personality and doesn't hide behind the papers!!!!!!!!! Mica had to go !!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, where did Mika go? At first I like her, but to tell you the truth, she started to annoy me. She seemed angry and almost jealous of Joe and his flirting with other women (like Jackie the weather person). Joe is a flirt, it is at time annoying also. Having said that, he has grown on me recently. I believe he is making an attempt to see both side of the the political questions. I appreciate that.
But to have Mika go without explanation is strange.

I watch Morning Joe just to check out ultra-hot weatherbabe Jackie Meretsky. She is incredible!

Where is Imus when we need him? True, Imus needs to
adjust some things, but he's much better than pompous
Joe. Behind Joe's beady little eyes and rude demeanor
there is a flicker of some real, just below the surface,
viciousness. The only thing going for 'Morning Joe'
is Mika and some good guests. He is a distraction rather than an asset,or maybe just an ass.
