Have the Emmy nominees been leaked online?

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 3rd 2007 9:22AM
Emmy The Emmy Award nominations won't be announced until July 19, but some of the shows on the list might have been leaked online already.

TheEnvelope.com says that they have the list for the "intermediate" stage of Emmy voting, and that the ten shows in the running for Best Drama are Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Friday Night Lights, Heroes, Dexter, House, 24, Rome, The Sopranos, and Boston Legal. The ten shows in the running for Best Comedy are The Office, Scrubs, Desperate Housewives, My Name Is Earl, 30 Rock, Ugly Betty, Two and a Half Men, Entourage, Extras, and Weeds. The final list will be cut down to five nominees in each category.

No one is sure how the information was leaked or even if the list is accurate, but TheEnvelope.com says they got the info from judges who are involved in the voting (the Emmy rules have changed this year - a panel of judges pick the ten finalists, and those shows are voted on my members of the academy). But honestly, when you list ten dramas and ten comedies like that, it's probably hard not to be accurate. I mean, what other shows could be nominated, really?

TV Squad will have full coverage of the Emmy Award nominations on the morning of July 19, so check back then to see if this info is correct.

No Rescue Me? That's an outrage!

Leary had better get a nomination again. He has become my favorite actor on TV right now and the show is now my number one show of all time, surpassing B:tVS by a hair due to the last season of RM being amazing.

The fact that 24 is on that list proves what a joke the Emmy's are. I absolutely love the show but c'mon this season sucked. The Shield, Stargate Atlantis and Prison Break are easily three of the best drama's this year. Add Lost and House and you would have what should rightly be nominated.

Anyway, House and Hugh Laurie must win everything this year. It was an incredible season and Hugh's performance throughout was simply outstanding.

Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, and Boston Legal? Seriously?
And I agree with Borat: Where are The Shield, The Wire and BSG?
Where is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? And why nobody is talking about it? This show is f***ing brilliant.

FNL and Dexter are really the only two of those shows that really deserve to win for best Drama. Not that the rest of them aren't any good, but they are just in a different class when it comes to drama. Also, we really don't need to give the Sopranos another award just because it just finished up.

I'd like to see Weeds take home best comedy, but a lot of those others deserve it too (and a lot of them don't).

'Friday Night Lights' is up there and well deserved. I hope it wins.

Also, what about "Deadwood"? The last season was brilliant.

Well, they can't nominate every show. How could there be room for The Wire with such great shows like Dexter on the air?

David Simon's Emmy for The Wire will come in 2-10 years, when he's made something that people can recognize and get behind as soon as it starts.
