How I Met Your Mother season two DVD out October 2

by Joel Keller, posted Jul 9th 2007 11:23AM
How I Met Your MotherThe ever-reliable TVShowsOnDVD.com brings us the good news that the second season of How I Met Your Mother will come out on DVD on October 2.

It looks like Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and company have put together a pretty good package. Seven episodes will get audio commentary from the creators, as well as various writers and cast members, including fan (and personal) favorites from last year "Swarley," "Robin Sparkles," "Showdown," and "Single Stamina." It will also include the video for "Let's Go to the Mall," performed by Cobie ("Robin Sparkles") Smulders, a video for the show's theme song, "Hey Beautiful" by the Solids, four featurettes and an easter egg.

Anyone who's read this site knows how I feel about the show, and the second season in particular: even though the episodes later in the season didn't quite match the highs established by the mid-season pair of "Swarley" and "Robin Sparkles," the season in general was very strong. So I'm glad that the extras package for the season is as extensive as it is. An who wouldn't want a copy, just to see Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Harris slap each other silly whenever they want?

Does anyone know the name of the episode where the crew met a new girl, and everything she said was a sexual play-on-words or innuendo or something? It went on for the whole show....it was great!
Thanks.

@David #11- ahem... that's season, not series, finale.

It bears repeating.

Agreed - HD Widescreen is the way to see this show. C'mon cheap-ass CBS, give us what we want this time around!

Oh, this means I can finally delete "Robin Sparkles/Slapbet" off of my HD Tivo. Can't tell you how many people I've played that one to and it never ceases to be as funny as the first time I watched it. Legendary!

David: Do you really expect them to be able to make all of the extras and produce the DVD one month after the series finale airs? I think that's a little unreasonable.

One of my favorite shows, but couldn't bring myself to buy season 1 on DVD. I watch this in glorious HD when it's broadcast, no way I'm going to buy cropped, full screen DVDs. I sincerely hope they've come to their senses for the season 2 DVDs.....

this is my favorite show on tv without a doubt. my favorite episode this season was when Robin and Ted find things from exes in each other's apartments and Robin calls the ex who left the moisturizer a whore and it's a whole big hilarious fight that i have weekly with my boyfriend. Can any of you tell me the name of that episode so i can easily name it as my favorite? thanks!

so i just got the first season of HIMYM on dvd. I am abi fan and Ive already been waiting 2 months since the season ended. I now need to decide if i should just DL/stream the 2nd season or if i should wait for the dvd set... wait... whats that?? 3 more months til the dvd comes out. Thank you again idiotic tv exec for making that decision so easy for me.

If you give me this dvd box set today do you now how many people i could get hooked on this show over the course of the summer?? Than in turn, get people to tune in for the new season.

Instead lets just drop it off a week before the start of the third season so than those who missed the second can do there best to watch it all, miss the beginning of season 3 and than start this horrible cycle again.
