Rosie wanted to "gay up" The Price is Right

by Anna Johns, posted Jul 11th 2007 4:25PM
rosie o'donnellRemember how initial reports said Rosie O'Donnell took herself out of the running for The Price is Right hosting gig because she didn't want to uproot her family to LA? Not entirely true. In fact, the truth is so much better.

During her 'R' cruise, Rosie told TV Guide that CBS didn't want her because she wanted to "gay it up" (her words, not mine). She evidently offered the network a Rosie Hosting Package of some sort that included getting rid of Bob's Beauties and replacing them with "a chorus line of Broadway hunks, confetti, musical bumpers and a new set". O'Donnell admitted that she was disappointed when CBS didn't take her offer, because she's been a big fan of the show for 35 years. That's when she took herself out of the running for the job.

Way to go, CBS! Broadway hunks? Confetti? Musical acts? That sure would've ruined the show. Part of its charm is how outdated it is.

I love Rosie!!! I enjoy watching her...and good for her for challenging all you self righteous conservative Americans...wake up and smell the change!!! It's about time someone starts speaking out about all these things in question. Who gives a crap about the price is right...you should get angry about things that matter. Lets figure out whats important. Why not hate wal-mart or something that really is damaging?

it is obvious there are some serious mental health issues there. Someone needs to check on the children that live with her to make sure they are alright. And her partner seems terrified of her.

I still think Patton Oswalt would make a great host. Or Jeffery Ross. We should have someone that picks on people (in a good natured way) and can make us laugh.

And that is what is important to remember: Bob Barker made us laugh. From the Range Game (which the device couldn't be started again for 47 hours or sometimes 72 hours) or when a lady would run up on stage and side-stepping contestants' row.

The show does need a face-lift and update, but people will keep watching if the interactions of the host and contestants is funny.

This is a problem with the entertainment industry. When they focus on someone from a particular group, they give the whole group a bad name.
Pat Robertson gives good Christians a bad name.
Jane Fonda gave the anti-war movement a bad name.
Al Sharpton gives the black community a bad name.
Rush Limbaugh & Ann Coulter give conservatives a bad name.
Thus Rosie O'Donnell gives the gay community a bad name. People like her don't give anything but ammunition to those who want to shoot her down. Lesbians need a new spokesperson. The media needs to focus on people from certain groups that add something positive to the world. Not all this ignorance.

I think Rosie should get off the air ways for good. She needs out of television or anything else for good. She's just a disgruntled lesbian that is mad at the world or anyone in it.She needs to relalize that her personality is ruining her talent.Well maybe not,I don't really think she has any talent anyway.God just needs to change her heart, then her personality will get better.
Thanks, Charlotte Deneice

Just bring in Wink Martindale or (preferably) Chuck Woolery.

CBS needs to not go with stunt casting (hello Katie Couric) and go with a safe game show vet.
