(S02E05) ABC never planned to air all Kyle XY episodes this summer. However, the network was supposed to air the five first episodes but decided to remove XY from this week's lineup. Fortunately, I had enlisted a friend's help so I would get my XY fix every week even though ABC stopped caring. Thanks to said friend for taping the series for me. This change in my viewing schedule means that starting next week, you should expect my reviews around Wednesdays.

This week's episode finally had Jessi's world collide with Kyle's. I doubt that fans were surprised this week by the episode as most of us had already predicted part of what happened.

I took some time to re-read my last reviews and all comments to find what we had predicted here at TV Squad. We correctly predicted three main events that happened in this week's episode:

• Adam's ring means something.
• Stephen will be hired by Madacorp and not know what the company is all about.
• Declan and Jessi will warm up to one another.

The ring

When I saw Kyle decide to give his ring to the pawn shop, I was 100% certain that it wouldn't stay there long as it was important for the mythology. Seeing that Ballantine bought the ring and wears it, means that it is indeed important. I'm pretty sure that it'll be the key to open a passage way, decipher a computer program or some text, or it'll be important in the controlling of XX and XY.

Speaking of Kyle trading his ring for the bracelet, the whole storyline brought Amanda and Kyle closer together. I sense that they two will definitely try to date down the road. Kyle is a genuine guy who really wants to do what's best for his friend and family no matter the cost. I'm afraid that Madacorp and co. will use that to their advantage.

Madacorp

Stephen did get a job at Madacorp and he, as expected, has no idea Ballantine wants Kyle. The man behind Madacorp sure is resourceful and must have tons of people (or cameras) looking on XY's life. Not only did he know the ring was at the pawn shop, but he knew Stephen was out of a job (then again maybe Madacorp bought Stephen's company so he would look for a new job and apply for a job at Madacorp, meaning that he would get closer to Ballantine) and offered him a job, surely to have another way in the Tragers family. What will happen if Stephen invites his new boss for supper just as Jessi exits Nicole's office?

This episode proved my rant about Declan being superfluous wrong. His meeting with Jessi brought Declan's character back to the forefront. He'll be her way in the circle of friends and she'll change his mood. Maybe, he'll even stop hunting for answers about Kyle's whereabouts... until he figures out that there is something wrong with XX too! Will the "new" Declan go back to being friends with Kyle?

Again this week, the show was teasing us by having XX and XY be close, feel someone was there, yet, not meet. If they do that a third time, it'll start to grow old and annoying. But having them "sense" one another for a second time was interesting. I really can't wait to see them come face to face.

Kyle's abilities

This week, Kyle was able to control his ability without the need of a tragedy. However, it was enhanced by the fact that he thought Amanda was in danger. It's a nifty idea to have Kyle be able to control his senses. I wonder when he would want to focus in on taste. Maybe during a cook off? I can't wait to see Jessi show us more of her abilities and how she controls them.

• Stephen and Nicole plotting the bad cop/worse cop scenario.
• Lori and Kyle on a stake out.
• Kyle telling Amanda's mother that he knows she sold the bracelet.
