Eureka: Try, Try Again

(S02E02) The beginning of the show suffered a bit from post-season premiere setup, but things got back on track pretty quickly. Allison's taking over Global Dynamics; Stark is heading out the door; and Fargo is... well, Fargo. Seeing Jack and Zoe at home definitely helped set the tone and bring back last season's ambiance.
In the midst of the G.D. takeover, the computers are off-line for an eight hour reboot. Someone left a present in Fargo's coat pocket, and of course, Fargo turns the thing on. It was a setup by the vault keeper, but it was a freakin' lame one. All he did was put it in his pocket? Why not that, a little fake-y paper trail and a big order of toys from Amazon.com or something?
Aside from the main plot, Henry's quietly developing his obsession with Kim's death. Oddly, it doesn't seem that anything has come from Henry's job application at G.D. The newest development was Henry discovering that Beverly had planted her bug in Kim's office. I almost missed it the second time around, but when Beverly comes to Section 14, Henry blows her off and turns and walks away from her as fast as he can.
The new dynamic between Stark and Jack could get pretty interesting now that Stark doesn't have to be the hard ass in charge. The entire cast seems to work well together, but Colin Ferguson and Ed Quinn get along really well in person, so I think the two of them will have fun playing off each other and growing the friendship on screen.
Jack was certainly interested in seeing Allison stand up to the general, but with Stark around it's going to be difficult for Jack and Allison to really develop their relationship. Their connection still showed a bit after the exchange with the general, so maybe there's still hope. If that's not tangled enough for you, I hear that Zoe's mother is coming to town later in the season.
I definitely enjoy the side humor that comes along with Eureka, but I have to wonder about Jack's 'The Boss is in' name plate. What were they thinking? I know it's Eureka, but it was a bit over the top. Otherwise it was a great episode. I'm a bit surprised that Beverly actually sent out all those emails. I guess Jo was satisfied after she got to kill him the first time. I'm looking forward to the next show, but hopefully they'll stop having to kill someone each episode for the rest of the season.
