Get ready for House to berate five new cast members next season

by Richard Keller, posted Jul 18th 2007 12:03PM

Kal Penn is one of five new cast members joining FOX's HouseThree out, five in. With the resignations of Doctors Eric Foreman and Alison Cameron and the firing of Doctor Robert Chase during the third season finale of House there isn't really anyone that Gregory House can abuse anymore. Don't despair, though, because five new actors are joining the cast of the FOX medical procedural for House to play with like a puppy's chew toy mold into fine healers.

Being added for the fourth season (which begins on September 25th) are Olivia Wilde (The Black Donnellys), Kal Penn (24, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle), Peter Jacobson (The Starter Wife, Transformers), Anne Dudek (Big Day, Bones) and Edi Gathegi (Lincoln Heights). They will all be in recurring roles for a undetermined amount of episodes; however, I have a feeling if one of their characters clicks with the viewing public they may be promoted to full-time status.

Wilde will play a young doctor named Thirteen who will work closely with House. What characters the other actors will play on the show has not been detailed yet. I'm pretty sure that they will all be stripped down their bare essence once House gets done with them.

Ipreferred the old team. Sometimes I notice when a show changes charactors, the show loses much of it's watchers. I hope you do do what is good for the show. I really love the show House, espescially, Hugh Laurie

I liked the old cast. What's the old saying -- "don't fix it if it ain't broken."

First, the three are/were 'fellows'. This means they have finished and internship AND a minimum of 2 yr residency. However because of the specialties each one of them has, they would have been residents for at least 4 yrs. A fellowship normally lasts 2 to 3 yrs. That part of the 'team' staying beyond 3 yrs doesnt make alot of sense. But, I have to agree with those who have said it just wont be the same. I think they should add some new personalities but allow the others to develop in their own directions too.

Is this a way for the network to get more people watching? Chase, Cameron and Foreman popping in and out of the scenes may be a ploy to keep you guessing what will happen next. Have to break in new characters, but will the old ones come back in the end? Stay tuned, that's what the writers want the audience to do.

Its ok to put in new characters, but Cameron, Chase, and Foreman better have little roles now and then, the show just won't be the same w/o them!

I was kind of disappointed in the first new episode of
House for this season. Although my favorite character
is Hugh Laurie, it seemed the story plot was weak. He
seems to do best when he torments the others. ( I'd
like to see House and Cutty get together, too!) I liked
the past episodes when House had a romance-type thing
going....Also, Wilson is cool....that works. I like he and House arguing... I think they need to bring back at least 1 or 2 of the other characters.....

Man, i'm gonna be really upset if all 3 are gone for good. New characters are great but integrate them SLOWLY !!!!

I think changing the cast is a really stupied idea! House is a great character, and yes, he is the star of the show, but Chase, cameron, and Foreman, were equally important. Instead of changing everyone, slowly put a new character in one at a time. I really don't even think I'll watch anymore.
