Snyder chats with some Star Trek cast members - VIDEOS

tom snyderLike any normal person living in the 21st century, the first thing I did upon hearing about Tom Snyder's death was to try and find some of his old interviews on YouTube. I'm too young to have watched The Tomorrow Show, but I did watch Snyder on The Late Late Show during my college years.

As I assumed, my YouTube search resulted in a lot of great clips, but the most interesting, to me anyway, is the interview Snyder conducted with James Doohan, Deforest Kelley, Walter Koenig, Harlan Ellison and Al Shuster. The men are talking about the still-in-development Star Trek motion picture. I've placed the interview, in five parts, below.

I'll admit I never jumped on the Star Trek bandwagon, but Snyder could be interviewing a topsoil expert and I'd still watch it and find it fascinating. The man always seemed genuinely enthusiastic about his interviewees, and that enthusiasm was always contagious. Also, anytime writer Harlan Ellison is interviewed, I'm there. I've never read any of his books, but damn is he fun to watch.

Also, everyone is smoking, which is pretty cool.

Enjoy:

Wow, thats a pretty cool find! I think my favorite Tom Snyder interview was in the early '90s when he interviewed Howard Stern on Bob Costas' old late night tv show. Just for the culture clash alone, it stands out to me.

Tom Snyder had a uniqie style of interviewing. I certainly do miss him. I still find it hard to believe he died.

I took the time to watch, and I'm glad. Used to watch Snyder on the Late Late Show...always enjoyed him. Star Trek is a favorite of mine as well. I miss Snyder's style, and his personality. He is as fresh today as he was 10, 20, and even 30 years ago.

For those that didnt take the time to watch it, as it was long, it is quite worth it.
