Big Brother 8: Live feeds update - August 5
Let's see ... Big Brother 8 is on at 8 PM tonight in most viewing areas. They'll be showing the finish of the Head of House competition. They'll probably show the nominations.Since I have the live feeds from within the house, I know spoilers about not only tonight's show, but even the Tuesday show! I'd say I know who's aligning with whom, but you need a scorecard to keep up with that as of late. But I'll tell you what I know. I'll let you in on my thoughts about the latest events from that Big Brother house of Sloppy Bunnies where we'll swim in Amber's tears.
After the jump, that is. Beware -- show spoilers ahead!
If you haven't kept up with the feeds happenings, you can refresh your memory by reading the recent events. In a nutshell -- Daniele won HOH and nominated Kail and Jen for eviction. Due to a banner plane which flew over the HOH competition, suspicion has been cast on Amber and Eric, mostly Eric. The banner read "Amber and Eric lie. We love Nick." So, although Daniele made a deal that she might put Kail on the block, but promised her she won't go home, things get a bit tricky.
They're all mad, as mad as a bunch of Mad Hatters, I say! It's no wonder that Big Brother has an Adventures of Alice in Wonderland theme to it this year. Eric once said that he thinks that casting used all the people who failed the psychological exam, not those who passed it. He may be onto something there. With the latest events, perhaps they're just a bunch of March Hares. I'll just call them the Bunny People.
And, yes. As you see in the screen cap, Daniele is one of those Bunny People. How did that come about to be, you ask? It was the POV competition's doing. The comp was held yesterday and it seems like it was the most curious event! (Oh, now that I'm on an Alice in Wonderland kick, it's going to keep seeping in. Forgive me!)
Kail drew the ball for houseguest's choice of a veto player. She chose Jameka, most likely in the hope that Jameka would be "ordained by God" to save her the way she saved Jen from the block last week. Zach and Dustin were the other players drawn.
As I mentioned, Dick is literally running Daniele's HOH for her. Not only that, but I fear he's getting madder by the hour. I was an Evel Dick fan early on, but I jumped off that train while it was still in motion. Dick was upset about Dustin and Zach playing. They both have reasons to let the nominations remain the same in order to protect themselves from that backdoor.
Since Dick's latest obsession is getting Eric out of the house, he needs one of the nominees to be removed from the block. He thinks by running around scheming against Eric, he can gather the votes to evict him in lieu of either Kail or Jen. Yeah, right. The problem with his plan is that he himself has alienated so many of the houseguests that it's going to be a tough road ahead, plus Eric is popular with the others even if some think him to be sketchy at times. At least he doesn't use intimidation tactics, Dick's mainstay in the game.
We didn't see the competition, but we sure heard about it and saw the results after the feeds returned. More than one houseguest claimed it was "the most brutal POV comp in the history of the show." From what they're saying, it sounds a bit like the graveyard comp last season in which the houseguests were offered rewards and punishments. Jen won the Power of Veto and I'm sure she'll use it to save herself. She may be a JenBot, but I don't think she'll pull a Marcellas!
The POV comp has some lasting effects, some for 24 hours, some for a week, some for several weeks. Here's a brief rundown of the punishments faced by houseguests:
- Jen gave up half of her winnings to win POV. It sounds like if she wins the show, she'll only receive $250,000 not the half-million.
- Kail and Jameka cannot compete for HOH for five weeks.
- Kail and Jen are on a BB Slop diet for an extended period. I'm not sure how long with Jen, but it sounds like Kail is on slop for the remainder of her time in the house. (Which I'd like to say is until Thursday, but that's just me!)
- Zach, Kail, Jen, and Daniele must wear bunny suits until Thursday's live show.
- Starting after the comp, a buzzer went off every hour and the Bunny People had to dash to the backyard and dump a bucket of slop over their heads. That will last for 24 hours.
Zach has been an outsider when it comes to all alliances. He remains one and, as such, he's a wild card who can be used by whichever group who can snag him. Jen and Kail have a quasi-alliance, but both are willing to "throw each other under the bus" if need be to save themselves. Supposedly Jen and Kail are hated by Dick and he's very vocal about it. Now he's that way about Eric.
Ah, but it all changes. Now Jen has entered a quasi-alliance with Dick and Daniele! Yes, you heard me right. Although the facts change dependent on who's talking to whom, they've called a truce. Jen says the Diary Room spoke to him about his behavior. And, of course, they had a spat where he threw her clothes over the backyard wall and she threw his cigarettes in the pool, but...!
So, the problem is ... who is going on the block and who will go home this week? Dick seriously thinks he has the backing of his former LNC buddies, but they are all tiring of his behavior. The only guarantee they can give Kail to stay is if Zach goes on the block. He's the one consistent element in the game -- no one really cares if he goes home. Both Kail and Eric are worried and Amber is probably crying for them. Tomorrow is the POV ceremony and I'll fill you in on the changes in the nominations when I know them. Until then, I'll leave you with a video which sums up the majority house thought as it stands right now.
