Big Brother 8: Live feeds update - August 5

by Jackie Schnoop, posted Aug 5th 2007 10:21AM
America's Player EricLet's see ... Big Brother 8 is on at 8 PM tonight in most viewing areas. They'll be showing the finish of the Head of House competition. They'll probably show the nominations.

Since I have the live feeds from within the house, I know spoilers about not only tonight's show, but even the Tuesday show! I'd say I know who's aligning with whom, but you need a scorecard to keep up with that as of late. But I'll tell you what I know. I'll let you in on my thoughts about the latest events from that Big Brother house of Sloppy Bunnies where we'll swim in Amber's tears.

After the jump, that is. Beware -- show spoilers ahead!

If you haven't kept up with the feeds happenings, you can refresh your memory by reading the recent events. In a nutshell -- Daniele won HOH and nominated Kail and Jen for eviction. Due to a banner plane which flew over the HOH competition, suspicion has been cast on Amber and Eric, mostly Eric. The banner read "Amber and Eric lie. We love Nick." So, although Daniele made a deal that she might put Kail on the block, but promised her she won't go home, things get a bit tricky.

If the nominations remain the same after POV, Kail will be voted out. One plan is if one is removed from the block, Zach will be on the block and he'll go home. That's the plan the majority of the house wants to follow. Oh, but Evel Dick has another idea! He's on an anti-Eric tirade, blaming Eric for all of the leaks between the LNC (Late Night Crew) and Kail as well as for the odd votes which went against the house vote. He wants to run Daniele's HOH reign and backdoor Eric right on out of the house!

Daniele Donato in a bunny suitThey're all mad, as mad as a bunch of Mad Hatters, I say! It's no wonder that Big Brother has an Adventures of Alice in Wonderland theme to it this year. Eric once said that he thinks that casting used all the people who failed the psychological exam, not those who passed it. He may be onto something there. With the latest events, perhaps they're just a bunch of March Hares. I'll just call them the Bunny People.

And, yes. As you see in the screen cap, Daniele is one of those Bunny People. How did that come about to be, you ask? It was the POV competition's doing. The comp was held yesterday and it seems like it was the most curious event! (Oh, now that I'm on an Alice in Wonderland kick, it's going to keep seeping in. Forgive me!)

Kail drew the ball for houseguest's choice of a veto player. She chose Jameka, most likely in the hope that Jameka would be "ordained by God" to save her the way she saved Jen from the block last week. Zach and Dustin were the other players drawn.

As I mentioned, Dick is literally running Daniele's HOH for her. Not only that, but I fear he's getting madder by the hour. I was an Evel Dick fan early on, but I jumped off that train while it was still in motion. Dick was upset about Dustin and Zach playing. They both have reasons to let the nominations remain the same in order to protect themselves from that backdoor.

Since Dick's latest obsession is getting Eric out of the house, he needs one of the nominees to be removed from the block. He thinks by running around scheming against Eric, he can gather the votes to evict him in lieu of either Kail or Jen. Yeah, right. The problem with his plan is that he himself has alienated so many of the houseguests that it's going to be a tough road ahead, plus Eric is popular with the others even if some think him to be sketchy at times. At least he doesn't use intimidation tactics, Dick's mainstay in the game.

We didn't see the competition, but we sure heard about it and saw the results after the feeds returned. More than one houseguest claimed it was "the most brutal POV comp in the history of the show." From what they're saying, it sounds a bit like the graveyard comp last season in which the houseguests were offered rewards and punishments. Jen won the Power of Veto and I'm sure she'll use it to save herself. She may be a JenBot, but I don't think she'll pull a Marcellas!

Big Brother 8 - Jen dumps slop on her headThe POV comp has some lasting effects, some for 24 hours, some for a week, some for several weeks. Here's a brief rundown of the punishments faced by houseguests:

  • Jen gave up half of her winnings to win POV. It sounds like if she wins the show, she'll only receive $250,000 not the half-million.
  • Kail and Jameka cannot compete for HOH for five weeks.
  • Kail and Jen are on a BB Slop diet for an extended period. I'm not sure how long with Jen, but it sounds like Kail is on slop for the remainder of her time in the house. (Which I'd like to say is until Thursday, but that's just me!)
  • Zach, Kail, Jen, and Daniele must wear bunny suits until Thursday's live show.
  • Starting after the comp, a buzzer went off every hour and the Bunny People had to dash to the backyard and dump a bucket of slop over their heads. That will last for 24 hours.
As an observer, the POV comp is the easiest part to follow. What's more difficult is trying to figure out who's playing whom and where the alliances really are in the game at this point. The LNC originally consisted of Dick, Daniele, Eric, Dustin, Amber, Jameka, Jessica, and Nick lurking on the outside. Now it's splintered with Dick and Daniele in an alliance of two who believe they still have the vote of the majority.

Zach has been an outsider when it comes to all alliances. He remains one and, as such, he's a wild card who can be used by whichever group who can snag him. Jen and Kail have a quasi-alliance, but both are willing to "throw each other under the bus" if need be to save themselves. Supposedly Jen and Kail are hated by Dick and he's very vocal about it. Now he's that way about Eric.

Ah, but it all changes. Now Jen has entered a quasi-alliance with Dick and Daniele! Yes, you heard me right. Although the facts change dependent on who's talking to whom, they've called a truce. Jen says the Diary Room spoke to him about his behavior. And, of course, they had a spat where he threw her clothes over the backyard wall and she threw his cigarettes in the pool, but...!

So, the problem is ... who is going on the block and who will go home this week? Dick seriously thinks he has the backing of his former LNC buddies, but they are all tiring of his behavior. The only guarantee they can give Kail to stay is if Zach goes on the block. He's the one consistent element in the game -- no one really cares if he goes home. Both Kail and Eric are worried and Amber is probably crying for them. Tomorrow is the POV ceremony and I'll fill you in on the changes in the nominations when I know them. Until then, I'll leave you with a video which sums up the majority house thought as it stands right now.

I miss Nick. I think it was terrible for him to get back doored like he did. He was my favorite player. I also think E/D needs to calm down. He is getting out of control.

Everyone lies! This is a reality show, after all. As a few houseguests have already said "it's just a game".

I don't care about Dick's friend OD'ing. I really don't - everyone has sob stories in their lives and he treats people (Jen, Kail) so horribly, that I simply don't care for anything he has to say.

I saw that Eric received a challenge tonight to promise to take someone to the end with him..would it not be awful if ED is chosen as that person. I think a lot of EDs anger is from not having access to certain substances (puff, puff).lol. I see why Eric is panicking about being found out, he is playing for America and he feels the weight of it all, I hate that he has to lie to Jess. but I hope she sticks with him. Zack should stay in the house, he is a cornball, but he is such a refreshing change from all the deceit and nastiness in that place.

I don't want to see poor Zach go on the block either. If D/ED/Jen are smart, they would use Zach as an ally, cause I have to say, when he gives his word that he'll be loyal,he keeps his word, case in point, not voting for Mike or Nick, his buddies. And he told Dani to just tell him what she wants and he will do it.

I would be so surprised if Dani puts ED on the block. I would LOVE it and I'd cackle for days, knowing he missed getting to sequester as well. I think if Dani made such a bold move, she would gain respect from all the others and might have the votes to win if she made it to the end. ED is a BIG liability for her in this game.

I agree that Dustin and Amber are insufferable together. They are so holier than thou and turn around and do exactly what they accuse others of doing. Dustin has gotten way too big for his britches. One of the "crew' needs to go on the block next!

Dustin is a huge liar......I've seen him lie twice in 15 mins. He needs to go. I'm so sick of the Dustin 5 acting so damn self righteous. I hope Dani/Dick/Zack/Jen are able to crush them. I'm sick of Wahmber and Jameka.

I'm actually excited about a Jen/Zach/Dani/Dick alliance, if they can make it happen. Zach seems to want one, and has said as much to dani, but dani isn't as responsive to zach as she is to jen...If the four can form, them they could teach up against Dustin's Dummies. Eric has pissed me off this past week. I know he HAS to lie, but he is hateful in his lies. Dustin and Amber MOCKED dick's story, where he cried, about his friend dying of an overdose last night.

Dust-amber are just horrible people, and lie to one another, as well as to every one else.

We'll see what happens, but Jessica is waivering at times, if they put eric up, and work on her, she MAY flip. If she doesn't then she has her head in the clouds to not see eric is lying to her...because zach's already outed eric's tell.

Would Daniele even consider putting her father up? That'd be awesome.

I hope Dani does not cave to the others and does not nominate Zack.
He is one of Dick/Dani allies at this point. And I am beginning to actually like Zack even if he is creepy. I like the Jenevel Danack alliance as it shakes up the game.

I like to see the LNR 5 have the light shine on them so they have to play the game and not float.

I think Dani would be wise to consider putting Dustin on the block. As I think Jen/Dick/Dani can remind Amber and Jameka what he did at last POV comp.

But no matter what, I like that Jameka/Jessica/ Eric/ Dustin/Amber have to actually play the game and not float.

Plus Dustin is getting very arrogant, calling himself a power player with strong moves.
