Eureka: Noche de Sueños

Jack has a classic dream - that everyone nearby happens to share
(S02E06) This was the most believable Eureka introduction yet. Sure, it was nice to see Allison make some effort for Carter, but Carter pulling someone out of a wrecked truck just after he saves Fargo from its swerving geek crushing clutches.

Sure, Eureka definitely leans not so slightly left of I doomed the world with the subatomic particle accelerator in my basement, but that's balanced out by things like Carter romping around town buck naked in a shared dream.

The show was particular interesting on the secrets front. For the first time, Allison lies to Carter. Henry dreams about erasing Jack's mind and Kevin's connection to the artifact is becoming more and more pronounced.

I was definitely surprised by the interaction between Stark and Allison. Her acceptance of his refusal to deactivate the sleep device was unexpected. Considering that she wants to know what's going on with Kevin, it was understandable, just very surprising.

The second round of shard dreams was the best yet. First we find Stark kissing Allison and then Cater kissing Allison while getting advice from the efficiency expert. I couldn't stop laughing during the Spanish soap opera Zorro knock off dream starring none other than Lupo, Stark and Fargo as the daring man in black.

Carter manages some amazing leaps in intuition, but this time he managed something extra. He pulled the idea of the neural network causing the shared dreams practically out of nowhere. On my second run through the show, I caught the line that tipped him off. The doctor only mentioned that the worked on neural networking at GD.

There's just one other problem with tonight's show. I'm not sure how it could possibly get any funnier. Seriously, Fargo just had a sword fight with Stark, then carved a 'F' in Lupo's shirt. Honestly, I can't wait to see where this season is heading.

I think that Senor Fargo is the best scene of any episode of Eureka. How could they top that?

"Henry dreams about erasing Jack's memory" - No it was Jack's dream. Only the G3 level employees had the dreams so it couldn't have been Henry's dream.

The Zorro dream was clearly the best part of this episode.

My problem with the episode was Jack saves Fargo, Save the driver, but decides to stay in the toxic waste to work on him. Seems to me he should have been smart enough to know that he need to get away from the truck.

At first I thought it was Henry who had the erasing dream, however Carter. Had that dream, brought out by his subconscious. As the season progresses the memory erase is pops up in Carters life... and had some kind of a disconnect and isn't sure why that exist. The dream just reinforces the fact he is starting to remember... or at least he still has the memory's even if he isn't able to currently able to access them.

Henry dreams about erasing Jack's mind and Kevin's connection to the artifact is becoming more and more pronounced.

They don't ALL treat him like a cretin. The people who he talks to and tries to understand the technologies around him quickly warm to him, but he gets easily frustrated by technobabble. That's when you see a little of the contempt from Henry, Allison, et. al.

Damn, I love this show. I love, too, that the dream expert was named "Suenos"--that was slick. I love that Allison may be beginning to remember why she divorced Nathan in the first place. I love that Carter gave that sweet present to Jo.

What I don't love, so much, is the way that Carter continually uses his inductive, big-picture skills to figure out what the problem is, yet is regarded as one half-step above a primate by the Eurekans. It's beginning to test my credulity.

Eureka's second season so far has been very charming. The Zorro dream sequence was a hoot.

The underlying plot elements of Henry erasing Carter's memory of the future events they shared and Henry's anger towards Carter for allowing Kim to die (as she had originally) have worked so well in this season so far.

It's going to be very interesting to see if they keep these plot elements working throughout the rest of the season, and if we get a complete (and honest) payoff.
