Larry King to appear on The Closer season finale

by Richard Keller, posted Aug 19th 2007 5:30PM

Larry King will appear on the Sept. 10 season finale of The CloserSure, sure, The Closer has received many accolades during its three seasons on the air, and star Kyra Sedgwick has won and been nominated for several awards. However, can you really say that the show has made it into the television pantheon? Well, now that Larry King is appearing you can definitely shout out a resounding 'YES'.

It's true, folks. Larry will guest-star on the season finale of The Closer, which will air September 10th on TNT.

He will be appearing as himself on the set of Larry King Live interviewing real-life Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez about the high-profile murder investigation that Sedgwick's character on the show, Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, can't seem to get a handle on. Also appearing on the show will be Court TV personalities Dominick Dunne and Rikki Klieman.

Now, if The Closer wants to be put into legendary status all they need to do is have Wayne Newton appear on the show.

The only way this would be worth it is if Larry was a suspect in a murder and we got to see Brenda rip into him in the interrogation room. How epic would that be for a season finale?

ugh, just cant' stand lame Larry King, who by the way, has never been on the internet, knows nothing about it, and turned down Roseanne's offer to show him how to - http://thinkprogress.org/2006/11/15/larry-king-internet/

I think it's law in the TV Universe that Wayne Newton can only appear in TV show episodes which are set in Las Vegas. (The same was true for the late Don Ho in regards to Hawaii.)

We're running out of the classic stars who could have served that kind of function. In the old days, you could have called upon Milton Berle, George Burns, Bob Hope, Johnny Carson....

I think the best option today would be Jay Leno.....
