Big Brother 8: Dustin's exit interview
Every week AOL's The TV Tattler will have an exit interview with the most recently evicted houseguest from Big Brother 8. Being the fan of the show and its live feeds that I am, I feel the need to not only share a bit of the latest interview, but add in my own two cents as I do!The shock at his eviction last week on the show was as real as we're ever going to see on reality television. He surely thought he had it all in the bag, didn't he?
Let's see what he had to say in his exit interview ...
Since the America's Player "twist" with Eric is still ongoing, the interviewer wasn't allowed to mention anything to Dustin about that aspect of the show. It's going to be interesting to see how and when that news is revealed to those still playing the game, but that's news of the future. Right now I'm more interested in the past. That is, the World of Dustin's Perspective on the game.
Although Joe was the show applicant and he was recruited, Dustin seems to know enough about the show to realize that usually when the first person is sent to the sequester house on a Thursday, it's usually a double eviction with another arriving on Sunday night. He didn't think he'd have a week alone, but he will. I too was surprised that there wasn't the traditional double eviction, but knowing about the trip undertaken by Amber and Daniele, the timing wouldn't have been right. After an expected anti-Joe bit, Dustin said it would be a tie over who he doesn't want to see more -- Evel Dick or Joe. He thinks they're both "immature, disrespectful, and very shallow people." While he vehemently denies he gave Joe an STD, he places Evel Dick in the same light as the person who claimed to the world he did so. Hmmm ... maybe it's just me, but I think I'd be more horrified and anti-Joe than against someone who out-schemed me in a reality television game show. Odd ducks they get for these shows, indeed.
I found it interesting that Dustin told the interviewer he thought Eric was ultimately responsible for the votes switching to evict him. He thinks Eric has an alliance with Jen (so far off base), but it's actually the manipulation of the America's Player coming into the game. To me, that brings a bit of a grey area into the picture. While I think Dustin's increasing arrogance would have gotten him evicted before long, had there not been that interference on the behalf of "America," he wouldn't have gone that week and it would be the Evel Dick interview I'd be reading. I certainly want to see their reactions after the twist is revealed.
One of the surprises in the interview is that when Dustin was referring to his girlfriend on the show, he meant an actual girl friend. Yes, he's gay, but she's his best friend from high school days and that's with whom he'll share the vacation he won.
He also implied that he has only one ugly grey v-neck shirt. Eww. He plans to be friends with Amber after the season, but still can't figure Jen out. The whole interview is worth a read, so check it out. But it's still nagging me what his reaction will be when he finds out that Eric switched his vote as part of the twist. What do you think?
