Seinfeld complete set coming in November

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 23rd 2007 11:20AM

Seinfeld castWell, you knew this would happen sooner or later. I'm just glad I haven't gone crazy buying the single season sets.

On the same day that the ninth and final season of Seinfeld is released (November 6), Sony will also release Seinfeld: The Complete Series. Not only will the set contain every single episode, there will be tons of extras for fans too. One of the more intriguing extras is a 226 page coffee table book ("a coffee table book about coffee tables!") that will come in the box, with cast memories, photos, trivia, yada, yada, yada.

This book was actually something that only cast and crew got when the show ended. Now, fans can get it too. And there will be an extra DVD thrown in too: a brand new discussion about the show with Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, and Larry David. I wonder if David will apologize for such a lousy finale?

The set will have 32 discs and sell for around $284.00, though we all know that Amazon and other places will have it for less. It's gold Jerry, gold!

Seinfeld + Friends = 2 greatest sitcoms of all time if you're under the age of 30.

This sounds fantastic. I wonder if they'll do a region two flavour?

This sucks!!!
I mean it's great that, just like the previous season sets, the series set will have all these great extras, but, unfortunately, I already own seasons 1-7. I bought the two limited edition 1-3 and 5-6 sets with the scripts, salt/paper shakers, cards and the miniature puffy shirt, and I was really hoping they would release seasons 8-9 in a similar set.
I guess I'm gonna have to buy the bonus DVD and coffee-table book on eBay...

I'm being a fanboy again, but Im curious as to whether many Seinfeld fans consider Arrested Development it's successor or not? It's a comparison I hear a lot, and one I agree with, what do others think?
