Will Clooney return to ER?

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 23rd 2007 8:21AM

George ClooneyOf course, getting George Clooney to come back would be a dream come true for ER producers, but they are trying to bring back old favorites for the final season (probably) of the hit NBC drama.

So far, only Noah Wyle has officially signed to come back to the show. He'll be on for several episodes, and in the ER not Africa (thank God). But producers have also talked to Julianna Marguiles and Gloria Reuben about coming back, and would love to also grab Eriq LaSalle, William H. Macy, and Laura Innes.

As for Clooney, coming back to the show for a last appearance isn't a crazy, out of the question idea. He already returned to the show for an episode after he left, to wrap up his storyline with Carol (Marguiles). He seems like the type of person who'd be up for it, especially if the show is ending and it's a one time thing.

Of course, the person I want to see come back to the show can't: Anthony Edwards. The show had to go and do something stupid like kill him off.

It would be great also if they got the all the nurses back from the beginning too. Maybe they could bring Mark back by saying that someone had a dream of his dying ala Dallas & he was really alive. though, I did love it when the helicopter landed on that S.O.B Doctor. That was poetic justice.

If Patrick Duffy can come back on Dallas, so can Anthony Edwards,.

It's really time for them to end the show... they ran it a little too long, or just maybe in a bad time slot against something better. This would be an wonderful way for them to close the show, having Clooney and the others reviving it.... I would DEFINITELY watch if they could make that happen!

Still miss "Rocket Romano" He was the most intriging charactor on the show. The writers could have done alot with his charactor. Why in the Hell did they kill him off?????

I watched ER religiously for the first three seasons, then it got to be ho-hum. No matter how inventive writers are, these shows can only stay fresh for a couple of years. It is now well past its prime....

I', an ER fan from way back.. Of course I would love to see all the old gang back together... and Anthony
edwards could come back as an 'angel-advisor" re: thirtysomething's blond guy". I miss the old
eR...it went south after the death of Mark Greene...then Carter left. I like Luka and Abby, but it's not the same. Hope that it gets a good send=off.

Ok I guess I was wrong. It wasn't a press release. And you didn't make the BS about GC coming back to ER up.

I assumed it was a press release by TV Guide because the length of the article is about that long to my understanding but I guess I was wrong. I guess the days of press releases are over...

TVGuide listed the people they definately have under contract, then the ones they definitely also asked and then they added "Sure we are thinking about getting Dr. Ross back all the time" and sarcastically added "He might need the work".

So I am sorry for accusing you of making up this BS, it was rather TV Guide who made it up. Take a look at George Clooney's IMDb page. He's working on so many projects at the moment I wonder how he gets any sleep at all.

You didn't make this up Bob, again, I am sorry. You just repeated it, without questioning it's legitimacy.

My RX for ER: Jerry wakes up from a most fantastic dream (remember Bobby Ewing?). Dr. Greene has not died and is still married to Elizabeth. Of course, Doug and Carol have married, but are working in the clinic. Dr. Benton and Cleo have been raising Reese together. We can't have Er without Dr. "Rocket" Romano. After the second helicopter accident, he was taken to a private hospital (at his request) until his artifical arm was so bionic he could be a surgeon again. Sam and her son never were Luka and Susan, not Abby, have been together for many years. As the hospital is in line to be closed down, Dr. Carter buys it and is chief. Though they've had their differences, he is able to pursuade Kerry to come back in a top managerial position and Carter and Abby live in the mansion. "Deb" calls Carter to tell him she wants to leave China and come back to Chicago. Neela and Michael (who survived the tank explosion in Iraq but his dog tags were missing and he had amnesia) are doing "good works" at the VA hospital next to County General. Greg may reconnect with Deb, but Morris never passed his residency because he's an idiot. Unfortunately Dr. Morgenstern declines Carter's offer to return and Lucy really did die. The nurses all have job security and Frank is as ornery as ever! Did I leave anybody out? With Drs. John and Abby Carter behind the wheel, County General becomes the "state of the art" hospital we all deserve.

I can't believe they are ending ER I always look forward to watching another season & another episode when it comes back on.I am so sad to hear this.I hope they will change there minds after this season. If they take a poll to see who would watch it or not. Then maybe they will change the time to a earlier time then 10p.m.I think alot of people would watch it then,
