Big Brother 8: Nomination Ceremony #9

Zach concentrating during the HoH.

(S08E26)
Well, it took 62 days in the Big Brother house and a wealth of ridiculous expressions (as seen above), but Zach finally won himself an HoH.

As a result Eric, Jessica, Dick, and Daniele are absolutely trembling in their collective boots since they have no clue what the loose canon is going to do with his newfound position of power.

Dick was probably the house guest doing the most trembling because two hours before the Head of Household competition he gave Zach a verbal abusing for the ages.

Before that, Big Brother threw a couple of wildcards into the HoH competition.

For starters, the contestants were informed that an additional container had been placed next to their giant bowl and that the first person to fill this container up would get a special telephone call from their home. They could either keep the call for themselves or give to another contestant.

Eric pulled the trigger because he was pretty much out of the game at this point. He gave the phone call to Jessica not so much out of strategy, but because he is infatuated with her. If he was smart, he'd have used the call strategically and given it to Jameka.

Next, the house guests were offered up two additional cups to transport tea with. For each cup used by a contestant the entire house would have to take cold showers for a day. All four contestants ended up using the additional cups which equates to eight days of cold showers for the house.

As stated in the intro, Zach won the HoH competition.

Dick yells at Zach.

Okay, quick rewind to two hours before the HoH competition. Dick confronted Zach about his efforts to get him or his daughter put up for eviction last week. In true Dick fashion, he ripped Zach a new orifice by calling him every rotten word in the English language. He may have even thrown in a few in Spanish.

At this point, I think Dick has pretty much cursed out every contestant in the house except Jessica. There's still around three weeks to go, so Jessica isn't quite free from being the recipient of a Dick bashing. That looks a lot dirtier typed out than it sounded in my head...

Zach's HoH Room

This is how everyone felt about seeing Zach's HoH room:

Dick yawns.

Next topic.

Daniele basically sold out her dad once everyone left Zach's HoH room. I can't say I fault her. Her separating herself from her father was destined to happen at some point in the game. I'm actually surprised she managed to make it this far before doing it.

Next, Eric had been dying to reveal some his secrets to his showmance so he let Jessica in on the fact that he cast the phantom votes for Mike and Kail and that he was the party responsible for squirting the mustard all over Jen's stupid shirt.

I personally think he's letting Jessica in on too many of his secrets too late in the game. All he's really doing is making Jessica realize that he's playing the game a lot harder than she realized - which will probably make her wonder if he's really been playing her all this time.

Finally, Jessica got to talk to her brother who was home from I-Rock, pardon me Iraq. Not a great deal transpired during this conversation, but we did discover that people are making and selling "Booyah!" shirts in Kansas, which helped me remember why I have no real interest in ever visiting the state of Kansas.

America's Player - Who should Eric get nominated?

America selected Jameka and Eric thought it'd be a pretty easy task to accomplish.

He immediately started working on Zach to put Jameka on the block pointing out the obvious fact that she's going to be a tough person to be up against in the finals since so many people in the house like her. I tend to agree with his logic on this one. Of all the parties left in the house, Jameka is the last person I'd want to go up against. Not only is she well liked, she has God on her side.

Next week, America will select which house guest Eric should mimic. I'm hoping America goes with Dick so he can get a taste of how hateful he is, but it would be equally amusing to have Eric mimic Jameka and the religious wisdom she loves to impart.

Danoto Duo works on Zach
Before the nomination ceremony, Daniele and Dick hatched a plan to try and get Zach to put Eric or Jessica up for eviction. Their goal was to get rid of a member in their alliance without having any real blood on their hands.

There's no disputing it, the Danato Duo are a couple of clever beavers. Every plan they come up with ends up working to some degree and as you'll see below, this week was no different. I've said it once and I'll say it again. The house guests are idiots for not getting Dick or Daniele booted from the house by now. There's no getting around it now. One of them is winning Big Brother 8. It's been preordained.

Nomination Ceremony

Zach makes his decision.

Here's how it played out:

Zach pulled Dick pulled Daniele pulled Eric.

Jameka and Jessica were put up for eviction.

This is Jessica's first journey to the chopping block and I think she has some cause to be concerned. Eric felt responsible for Jessica being put up so expect him to work extra hard next episode to keep his lover safe. If there's any doubt that Eric's heart is way wrapped up with Jessica, I leave you with this parting shot. And I thought the crying themed screencaps would end with Amber's departure...

Eric weepy.

If the nominations stand, who is going home this week?
Jessica455 (38.2%)
Jameka737 (61.8%)

I was thinking that Jess and Eric might just have more fun in the sequester house than in the BB house when I read on Jackie's site that the rumor is that there may not even be a "sequester" house and that the "jury" is all being held seperately in hotels with minders. Does any body have more info about this? Thanx. Leigh in Santa Cruz

I happen to like Dick and Daniel and Eric and Jess. I think all of them are playing well. However, ppl ought to recognize that Dick's survival was 100% due to America's vote and that he is not all that good of a player. Outside of that week, where he achieved a miraculous recovery, he plays the game well, just like the other 3 and Zack. They are the rightful final 5. Dick is not the best, just the luckiest so far. Eric is forced to strategize according to America's will and so far that has rarely been the moves that will help his alliance/romance. AP is also the reason Jess is going home this week for sure along with whoever happens to be unlucky evictee #2. Assuming the new HOH will make new nominations before the second eviction this Thurs. night, one has to recognize that the new HOH has to be either Eric, Dick, or Daniel, since Zack as outgoing HOH and Jameka cannot compete for it. With two bites at the apple, I'd put my money on a Donato victory and therefore an Eric ouster, of course anything is possible in the BB house so....Hmmm I think Jameka and Zack will make the final four for sure, very interesting.

Actually, I have to give some points to Zach on how he is playing the game. Everyone quickly labeled him the "oaf" and basically dismissed him as a player. But there is a method to his madness. Let's assume Jameka is the one that goes home this week. If one of the Donatos happens to then win HOH, Zach will present himself to them and say "See, I had your back all the time. Now let's get Eric and/or Jessica out." (Assuming that one of them isn't put out with the double eviction). Or, if Jessica is not evicted, and either she or Eric wins HOH, Zach will present the same proposal to them to get rid of the Donatos. But I agree that being up against one of the Donatos in the final two basically assures you of a win.

Side Show Bob!

If jess gets "wacked!" then maybe Eric will do a little thinking on his own istead of being led around by his you know what! Jameka is the odds on favorite to go, but even in horse racing, sometimes the longshot wins. I usually bet the favorite at the track so give me jameka across the board and I'll wait until thursdays' double elimation to place the tri-fecta!

I haven't seen the exact rules in detail on what Eric must or must not do as America's player, but I think he is getting a bum rap on strategy when it comes to telling the others who to put up. Sure it would have been strategic to put Dick or Danielle up, but if America told him they wanted him to get Amber nominated, did he have a choice? So far I haven't seen it written anywhere that he is allowed to refuse who he is told to get nominated.

Zach finally won HOH because he knew he had too. He would of been gone home Thur if he didn't win. I'm glad Jessica and jameka are gone next. I don't like Eric either. I hope Dick and Daniele will be the last two left. The first time I watched BB I didn't like Dick and Daniele, but now I want them to win. Dick tells them to their face what he thinks of them. ITS ALMOST NOT WORTH WATCHING BB ANY MORE SINCE IT HAS NOW BECOME SO PREDICTABLE. LETS SAY DANIELLE WINS POV SHE TAKES JAMEKA OFf THE BLOCK. THE SMART MOVE HERE WOULD BE TO TAKE EVIL DICK AND PUT HIM UP OPPOSITE JESS. TWO VOTES FOR JESS WOULD BE ERIC AND JAMEKA AND MAYBE ONE FOR ED WOULD BE DANI, MAYBE. BUT YOU CAN REST ASSURE THOSE WHO SHAKE IN THEIR BOOTS WHO ARE OBVIOUSLY WITHOUT HEART,(ZACK) WILL DO WHAT DANI SAYS AND PUT UP ERIC.

SEE ERIC U SHOULD ALWAYS LISTEN TO A WOMANS FEELINGS. JESS TOLD U THAT IT DIDNT FEEL RIGHT AND MAYBE ONE OF THE TERRIBLE DONATOS SHOULD GO UP LAST WEEK

In all honesty, and as much as I do not condone his behavior, I shall have to admit that Dick should win BB because it is through his evel (LOL) operations of surprisingly sraight forward twists, he has everyone in the HOH working for him. He has been avoided of being chosen for eviction and his daughter happens to be his shadow which protects her from being chosen from eviction. A part of me should just quit watching the show because I can already see who will win but just the observation of the HOH contestants is entertaining enough.
Eric, I do believe, just dug his grave. Oh well, considering the fact that he will not win BB, he can be happy he got 30K out of the game.
