Earl gets Charmed

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Sep 7th 2007 1:01PM
Alyssa MilanoCharmed fans rejoice! Alyssa Milano will be back on the small screen this fall. However, it will be in a role and in a TV series quite opposite of what her role of Phoebe Halliwell and Charmed were all about.

Since The WB's Charmed ended in May 2006, Milano has not done much acting, leaving her dedicated fans out cold. Actually, if you look at her IMDb profile, you can notice that she had a role in a TV pilot that wasn't picked up and has two upcoming movies. But still nothing her fans can chew their teeth on in the near future. This will change when Milano guest stars in NBC's My Name Is Earl.

Spoilers after the jump!

TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reports that Alyssa Milano signed to play a possible love interest for the lead character of Earl, played by Jason Lee. Ausiello reveals that the character, named Samantha, is "tough and quirky" and linked to Earl's fellow inmate and friend Frank. After meeting Sam, Earl "quickly develops feelings for her and, through a bizarre twist of fate that harkens back to a seminal moment in Earl's past, he ends up teaching her the ins-and-outs of karma."

TV Squad was able to get a bit more information about the role. Samantha, Frank's girlfriend, should be introduced in "Made Frank's Girl Dump Him," the seventh episode of the upcoming season. She drops by the prison for a conjugal visit. Because he is not allowed visits at the moment, Frank asks Earl to go talk to Sam on his behalf.

Alyssa Milano is signed for at least three episodes but it seems they would like her to appear in at least eight. My Name Is Earl will return on NBC Thursdays starting on September 27.

Good to hear that she coming back! I worked with Alyssa's family a few years ago and I am certain that Alyssa Milano is about 6 or 7 years older than what the IMDB profile states. But, she is yet another beautiful woman in her 40's!

okay..by far and large this is my favorite blog on the whole of the internet, so I definitely wanted to get some opinions on this - when my friends at work all heard about Alyssa on Earl for a few guest spots yesterday, we thought this would be even better for her die hard fans.. what do you think ?

It would be amazing if the creative powers behind Boston Legal tapped her charm, talent, and charisma as well.

Could you imagine Alyssa Milano playing a hotshot legal eagle from their New York office who comes to Boston to turn the whole place upside down. Instead of James Spader's character playing the women, maybe Alyssa's character could play him. A little italian American hotshot to create a little friction within their Boston enclave. It certainly would create yet another schism within the firm. Alyssa Milano, dressed in the requisite hot sexy lawyer skirt suits with a New York accent would give those Boston lawyers a run for their money. Plus, as an added bonus to her 20 years of on screen acting, she would give the show an injection of italian-american sex appeal all wrapped in a 5'2 body. Certainly James Spader's character would be all torn up in stitches just watching her walk down the hallway....

Considering the all-star cast of Boston Legal is never ending. So why not an 80s and 90s icon that every man between 15 and 50 knows by name alone.

Boston Legal could become even more charmed than it already is ...no pun intended again...of course...lol

Hmmm, "he ends up teaching her the ins-and-outs of karma."
Followed by, "She drops by the prison for a conjugal visit."
