Big Brother 8: Nomination Ceremony #11

by JJ Hawkins, posted Sep 9th 2007 11:58PM
Dick makes Jameka promise on the bible.

(S08E29)
Well, I never thought I'd see it happen, but Jameka went and made herself a deal with the devil.

The strangest part about the whole sequence was that the Devil asked Jameka to swear on the bible that she'd keep her promise.

It was the absolute last thing I expected her to do, but I'm guessing when $500K is on the line it's okay to forget your convictions for a moment...

All kidding aside, I never expected Jameka to make it this far in the game. She should be commended for the achievement, and I'm mostly joking when I say she let her convictions fly out the window (plus she never ended up swearing on the bible).

I really don't blame her for doing whatever she could to stay in the house longer. I just thought it'd be a little more difficult for her to strike a deal with someone who has treated her so poorly in earlier portions of the game.

Dick and Daniele gloat.
After a rather lengthy recap of last week's episode events we got to see Dick and Daniele gloat about the Donato win in the most recent Head of Household competition.

It's important to note that the first thing out of Daniele's mouth was something to the effect of, "We need to get Zach out of the house." This is a key point for later in the recap because Dick and Daniele are ostensibly in an alliance with Zach.

New pictures on the memory wall.
The house guests were then greeted by a set of new pictures on the memory wall. The pictures were of various events that had occurred throughout this season of Big Brother.

Head of Household Competition - Picture This

HoH 11

In the HoH competition the house guests were asked a series of questions on the new memory wall pictures. If they answered correctly they'd take one step towards the top of the platform. If they answered incorrectly they stayed on the same spot. The first person to answer seven questions correctly would win one of the most important Head of Households in the game.

The game moved pretty swiftly, and after seven correct answers, Zach and Daniele both reached the top step at the same time.

Tie breaker.
The final question was a numbers answer. The person closest to the answer without going over would win HoH.

  • What was the total number of house guests in the 13 new pictures on the memory wall.
The competition couldn't have been any closer. Daniele guessed 58 and Zach guessed 59. Zach won the HoH and extended his winning streaks during competitions.

After the HoH competition Daniele did her usual whining routine where she used the word "like" and the word "suck" an obscene number of times. The more this shows drags along the more she gets on my nerves.

Zach's Head of Household Room - Part Duex

Young Zach and family.

It was another veritable snorefest during the unveiling of Zach's HoH room, but we did get to see a picture of Zach along with his dad and brothers. Zach also got a little misty eyed after he read a letter from his family.

Almost immediately, Zach was approached by Daniele about putting Jameka up for eviction. Zach showed some reluctance with this strategy which caused Daniele to get all frustrated. She ultimately left the room flustered because she could tell Zach had intentions of putting her and her father up for eviction.

Daniele talks with Zach.

Dick worked on Zach as well but got the same result as Daniele. Dick played the, "we're in an allegiance, and we would have taken you to the final three" card. I found that comment to be pure BS. The both of them were ready to toss Zach out the front door earlier in the episode. For them to try and play the alliance card is pretty crappy. Then again, at this point "it's all game" so you can't blame anyone for doing anything anymore.

Final Nomination Ceremony

Daniele rolls her eyes at Zach.

Zach gave a strange speech during the nomination ceremony where he basically praised himself for making it this far in the game. Danielle pretty much rolled her eyes during Zach's entire speech and she and her father made several pompous comments once Zach pulled out Jameka's key and told her she was safe.

I'm absolutely done with the Donatos at this point. Their cockiness and piss poor attitude about most things has me pretty much despising them and I'm glad Zach did what he did. I pray that the nominations hold after the PoV competition on Tuesday.

I never really saw it before, but Daniele is just a passive aggressive, less articulate version of her father. I think I let her pretty smile and lovely figure blind me this entire season. I can't wait for her to get the old Italy.

Are you happy with the nominations?
Yes - I'm done with the Donato's too.734 (71.5%)
No - I was hoping they'd both be in the finals.293 (28.5%)

If the nominations stand, who is going home this week?
Dick Donato292 (31.5%)
Daniele Donato636 (68.5%)

To whom it may concern----I have been tvoing since last week the after dark programs I watched last nite-- 12to 3am 9-11-07--I will not watch it again I cannot believe that a t.v. company would allow a person say the things dickless yes dickless said to zack----the words that came out of his mouth was like he was a madman If I were zack's parents I would have been so upset--- yes--- I have son's and 9 grandson's that play sports but if they did what that whatever he is said on t.v. I would be crushed---- I can see that it's a competion but to go as far as he did was terrible and poor zack should get a medal for going through all of that --the t.v. station or big brother should be asshamed---By the way dick I also am an italian who wants to say your mother must be so ashamed of your mouth you could have been a little more respectful to her if not to others---I hope that zack won the veto----shame on all that let that happen.

D & D deserve to win.
To steal a phrase from another reality show, they out wit out played the whole house.
Dick by far the very best ring master of the circus.
Yes Dick is crude and obnoxious but he has style and gamesmanship.
That's all I'm going to say about that.
(yes another stolen line)

Well said, Irene. I can't say I personally like them as people, but they played a formidable game and if they continue this way they deserve to win and they will win. Go D&D!

I agree that D&D deserve to win. Name one person in the house that wasn't dihonest at some time or other. Zack coasted all along and now says it is unfair the way D&D played the game. Give me a break they did what they did --- just as all other BB winners in the past did what they had to do to win. That is the name of the game and don't tell me if $500,000 was on the line anyone reading this wouldn't honestly do what it takes to win the game. Zack stated that he couldn't win against Dani -- boo hoo. Janelle was a winner all along as well last year. Say what you like, but Dani is a smart cookie. If you hate them so much why are you wasting your time watching the show. It is suppose to be for our entertainment.

D&D have dominated this game through and through, whether it was by winning competitions (POV's, HOH's, etc), lying, making alliances, breaking those same alliances, intimidating, vulgarity, etc. Yeah, Daniele is irritating by whining all the time, but I can't imagine being in that house is all too much fun. D&D deserve to win, not some coasters! Like Dave said, name a BB winner who hasn't done a portion of what they've done to win. It's a game poeple! They are playing the game to win, not for second place. Plus, in my opinion using religion the way Jameka does to improve her image is just as bad. His name is Evel Dick, what did you expect? You have to be sneaky in this game, that's what makes it interesting, and half of the reason why we watch! People need to stop taking everything to heart, or your the ones getting Big Brothered! I'll be happy when a Donato gets crowned the winner.

"Boogie was much more likable and charming than D&D."

Not in my opinion. Sure, Danielle is a whiny, immature, obnoxious, "what's in it for me?" brat; and Dick can be extremely intimidating, vulgar and offensive when the occasion calls for it; but I would take either of those two any day over Mike "Boogie" who conned, lied and show-manced his way to win last year's Big Brother.

At least with Dick, what you see is what you get, as rough and impossible as that may be to tolerate at times. With Boogie, almost everything that came out of his mouth was a lie. Boogie winning last year's Big Brother was (for me) the most disappointing Big Brother finale. And, yes, even Danielle possibly winning this season won't be as bad.

Boogie was much more likable and charming than D&D.

If D&D are the final two, I believe Dick will win, since Danielle has pretty much betrayed so many others, and has proven herself to be much more evil, calculating, and cold-hearted than he is. If she were smart, she'd use the veto on herself and then vote Dick out, but she doesn't have the guts. She'd definitely win over Zach, but seriously doubt she will over Dick. He's the more likable of the pair.

Yes Dick and Danielle have treated people horribly but name me one Big Brother where the winner was a nice person who never lied to someone, talked about people or made fun of them. Do you think last year's winner Boogie is a saint?
